Student answer (Band 5.0)

In coming years, all vehicles will be driverless and only passengers will be present inside the cars, buses, and trucks.

Driverless vehicals have many diasadvantages like you are totally isolated in the car and no one present there other than the passenger. If some kind of emergency happen there is no one to look after the passenger and cause serious issue. These vehicals will totally controlled by computer and if you book these caps these cars doors open on your designation and if anything happen inside, the help require at that time take a lot of time.

If we rely totally on technology and if something happenend with the vehical there is no one to look after. What happen with the car and there is no solution other then waiting for help to come there.

It is totally unsafe if someone approaching you or someone is trying to follow you, no one is there to help you. This is also not good for drivers because their jobs will be eroded and technology take their jobs and it badly impact on these drivers family and they do not have other earning source.

There are more chances of accidents in driverless cars. There are cameras inside these cars from which our all activities are watched by the company and you do not have any privacy in these types of cars.

In conclusion, I believe that, driverless cars are not beneficial for companies as well as passengers there are many critical reason to not promote these cars in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While you present several points arguing that the disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the advantages, your position is not always clearly sustained throughout the piece. Furthermore, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed. For instance, when you mention that 'jobs will be eroded and technology take their jobs', you state a relevant point about unemployment, but you do not extend or support this idea with any specific examples or further explanation. Similarly, your discussion regarding safety concerns and privacy issues ('cameras inside these cars from which our all activities are watched') lacks sufficient elaboration to fully develop your argument. To reach a higher level, you would need to explore each main idea more thoroughly, providing concrete explanations or examples to substantiate your claims about both safety and employment impacts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organization present in your writing, but the overall progression is not always clear, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted. You attempt to separate your ideas into distinct sentences, but transitions between sentences and paragraphs are weak. For example, the shift between discussing emergencies in the second paragraph and the repetition in the third paragraph ('If we rely totally on technology and if something happenend...') lacks smooth cohesive links. Additionally, cohesive devices are often inadequate or repetitive, relying heavily on basic conjunctions like 'and' or conditional structures like 'if'. Paragraphing is also an issue; your central body points are clustered into a block of short, repetitive sentences rather than being developed into distinct, well-structured thematic paragraphs. To improve, you should group related ideas logically and use a wider range of appropriate cohesive devices to connect your arguments seamlessly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for expressing basic ideas. You attempt some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'isolated', 'emergency', 'unemployed' (implied), and 'privacy', but these attempts are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form. For instance, you misspell 'vehicals' and 'caps' (when meaning cabs), and use phrases like 'earning source' instead of 'source of income' or 'livelihood'. There are also awkward collocations, such as 'help require at that time take a lot of time'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and impede the natural flow of your argument. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand your lexical repertoire, ensure correct spelling, and practice natural word partnerships and collocations suitable for academic writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences or faulty complex attempts using conditional 'if' clauses. There are frequent errors in grammar and sentence construction throughout the text, which can cause difficulty for the reader. For example, subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are problematic, as seen in 'If some kind of emergency happen there is no one' and 'if anything happen inside, the help require at that time take a lot of time'. Additionally, articles and prepositions are frequently missing or misused, such as in 'take their jobs and it badly impact on these drivers family'. Complex sentence forms are often inaccurate, and punctuation is basic. To improve this criterion, you should work on expanding your repertoire of complex structures while tightening your control over basic grammar, verb forms, and plurals.
