Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, many people believe that all types of vehicle including cars, buses, and trucks will be automated and driverless, in the future. And they think the only people travelling inside such transporters will be passengers rather than combination of driver and passengers. From my perspective, as anything in this life, self-driving cars have their own benefits and drawbacks.
On the one hand, It is clear that the dream of having a car without the need of applying your hand for using the wheel, always existed even from centuries with less technological developement. One of the distinct advantage of such invention is providing more time for travellers. Many people prefer to spent their time on the other tasks rather than driving, for example, during visiting new places, people often want to watch the scenery of the surrounding landscapes and mountains, in order to unwind after exhausted daily routines. Hence, such technology provide them with what they wish, and gives them the oppertunity to spend their time on other entartaining activities rather than focusing on the road solely. Other benefit of this developement is the way it can be used for protection, driverless cars are often described as a very beneficial tool ,as they have been made with many life saving standards, for example reacting to danger more quickly that humans, due the the highly sensetive sensors which they have. Consequently, such inventions can be quite useful in some situations.
On the other hand, self-driving cars could also have some disadvantages. Such cars often expensive and may cause financial labour for many people ,as a result they may can not afford them. Another issue that may arise from such cars is when they are being involved in different types of crime. For example, when a self-driving car hit a human , issues like who to blame often arise , and it may be difficult to decide wether the criminal is the owner or the car.. Consequently, it would be so demanding to implicat the law or to judge accurately.
In conclusion, invention of driverless car could be both advantageous and disadvantageous, i think with using them with right time and place, and adding more advanced standards to these cars, many problems related to this topic may be solved.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and give relevant reasons, including passengers gaining time and automated vehicles potentially reacting to danger faster than people. The crime example also raises a relevant question about responsibility after a collision. However, the task asks whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and your position remains unclear: the introduction says driverless cars have benefits and drawbacks, while the conclusion says they could be both, without deciding which side is stronger. Some points are also under-developed; for example, the cost concern is stated but not explained in terms of who might be affected or how. State your judgement clearly and support it with more specific explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. The advantages paragraph also develops a sequence from saving time to enjoying scenery and then to safety. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some stronger progression. However, links can feel mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Consequently,” and some references are unclear, as in “such cars” after several possible ideas. Improve flow by varying transitions and making each paragraph’s central point and supporting explanation more tightly connected.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “automated,” “sensitive sensors,” “life-saving standards,” and “financial” concerns, so the response can discuss both benefits and risks. However, the range is not consistently controlled, and noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors sometimes distract the reader. Examples include “developement,” “oppertunity,” “entartaining,” and “financial labour”; the last phrase does not express the intended idea clearly. Some wording is also awkward, such as “applying your hand for using the wheel” and “the criminal is the owner or the car.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural combinations, especially for key claims about cost, control, and legal responsibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “rather than,” “for example,” and “when,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, attempts at longer structures are often faulty, and errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “such technology provide” should have a singular verb, while “Such cars often expensive” is missing a verb. The phrase “they may can not afford them” combines modal forms incorrectly, and “the only people … will be passengers rather than combination” is not grammatically complete. Review basic sentence patterns and modal verbs, then proofread longer sentences for complete clauses and correct agreement.
