Student answer (Band 5.0)

When considering modern future, one of the things that come in mind is advancement in the transportation sector. Its always a dream for most of the individuals to have driverless cars, buses and trucks. When the advancement in technology, humans has succesfully developed such vehicles that take them to their destination safely without need of a driver.

Driverless vehichles has both merits and demerits. But the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. The main disadvantage involves downfall of people who serve as drivers in companies or houses. They would ultimately loose their job. However, the pros include less to zero chances of accidents as the system would be controlled by advanced AI technology as well as their is no driving liesence requirement inorder to drive a vehicle in emergency situations like going to hospital if an accident happens. This make these vehicles more convienent than ordinary once. Another advantage of driverless vehicle is that anyone can use it regardless of the age. Tesla is one of the example that has already produced such driverless vehicles which automatically and safely carry a person to his selected destination.

Their is still time in normalization of such vehicles as its not yet affordable as well as their is always room for improvement in these vehicles inorder to make them more advanced.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify relevant points: possible job losses, fewer accidents, and access for people of different ages. However, the response only partially develops the task. The claim that AI means “less to zero chances of accidents” is not explained or supported, and the hospital example is difficult to follow. The Tesla reference is relevant but remains general rather than showing how the technology supports your argument. The response is also below the required 250 words: 211 words, with eight words copied from the prompt excluded. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a specific example, and address the disadvantages more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting disadvantages and advantages, and a brief concluding paragraph. Linking words such as “However” and “Another advantage” help signal contrast and addition. However, the progression is limited because several different ideas are crowded into one body paragraph, while the final paragraph introduces affordability and the need for improvement without connecting them clearly to your position. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the sentence about driving in an emergency after an accident. Use separate paragraphs for the main disadvantage and advantages, and make each paragraph develop one central point with clear links between the explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “driverless vehicles,” “advanced AI technology,” “destination,” and “affordable,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “vehichles,” “succesfully,” “loose,” “liesence,” “convienent,” and “ordinary once.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “downfall of people who serve as drivers” and “normalization of such vehicles.” These choices make parts of the argument harder to interpret. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe drivers as “losing their jobs” and wider adoption as “becoming commonplace.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “However” and a relative clause in “vehicles that take them to their destination.” Nevertheless, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. Examples include “When the advancement in technology, humans has successfully developed,” which lacks a complete opening clause and has subject–verb disagreement, and “Driverless vehicles has,” where the plural subject requires a plural verb. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “Tesla is one of the example.” Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and clause links, then proofread each sentence for these patterns.
