Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the coming years, al vehicle will be transfer to driverless and inside it there is only the passangers. Although some might consider it negative, I believe it to be extremely beneficial. Not only because of fewer road accident and less traffic congestion, but also because of greater convenience and accessibility.

There are multiple advantages of associated with driverless vehicle. Firstly, fewer road accidents can be considered as the leading benefit of this development. As human can cause error due to fatigue and also other circumsances but these busses should manage each situation in a perfect way. Take the example fo Germany, a survey conducted in 2023, which pritected that the widespread use fo driverless vehicle could reduce the rate fo road accident to just 5% by 2028. Thus, this mega benefit I believe has the potential to make this development a positive outlook.

Secondly, apart from the lesser road accident, fewer traffic jam can also be another major benefit. As due to advancement they can communicate with eachother and take the easiest way thus reduce the chance of traffic congestion. For example, in China due to advancement in artificial intaligence the driverless vehice have reduced 30% chances of taffic jam. Thus, less traffic jam can be labelled as most significat advantage, giving this development a positive outlook.

Finally, greater convenience and accessibility can be considered a leading benefit of driverless vehicle. As disable and elder people can drive themselves so there is a siginificat benefit for them.

To sum up, even though driverless vehicle have some drawbacks too, I believe that in terms of fewer road accident, less traffic jam and greater convenience and accessibility can make this development a positive one.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify safety, reduced congestion, and accessibility as reasons. The first two points are supported with examples and figures, so the response addresses the question with relevant ideas. However, the disadvantages are only acknowledged in the introduction and conclusion; you do not explain what they might be or compare their significance with the benefits. The accessibility point is also less developed: the claim that older and disabled people can travel independently needs explanation or an example. To strengthen the response, briefly discuss a realistic drawback, then show why the benefits still outweigh it, and extend the final supporting point with specific detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three benefit paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Finally,” and “To sum up” help readers track the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the repeated pattern of naming a benefit, giving a short explanation, and ending with “positive outlook” or “major benefit” makes the development somewhat mechanical. Some links are also awkward, particularly “As due to advancement,” and “Not only because…” is left as a sentence fragment. Use more varied transitions and connect explanations directly to their consequences to make the flow more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “driverless,” “road accidents,” “traffic congestion,” “artificial intelligence,” and “accessibility,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “widespread use” and “significant benefit.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “passangers,” “circumsances,” “intaligence,” and “significat.” Some combinations are unnatural, including “fewer traffic jam,” “lesser road accident,” and “positive outlook” in this context. Aim to learn accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise terms such as “traffic jams,” “collision rate,” and “independent mobility” would make the argument clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although some might consider it negative” and a reason clause beginning “As human can cause error.” This shows an effort to vary sentence structure, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent: “Not only because of fewer road accident…” is a fragment, while “There are multiple advantages of associated with…” has an incorrect construction. Agreement and number are also problematic in phrases such as “driverless vehicle have” and “fewer traffic jam,” and articles are missing in “As human can cause error.” Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex sentences easier to read.
