Student answer (Band 5.5)
Individuals believe that vehicles like cars, buses and trucks will be completely automated in the near future, which means they can drive own there own. The only people travelling inside such vehicles will be passengers. I believe that the advantages of driverless vehicles can outweigh the disadvantages.
To commence with, it is widely said that castles won't build in a day and same goes with building such autonomous vehicles as they require a lot of research and time, which can be only be done by intelligent brains. So companies working in such industries have to hire more individuals who can put there contribution towards building such projects. Along with this, a lot of labour is require to produce such vehicles on mass quantities. So all these factors will eventually boost employment rate which is definitely a good advantage for a lot of people. Apart from this, driverless vehicles are design to run by following traffic rules and regulations. So this can reduce the chances of collision, which will favour the public safety.
Also, vehicles who can drive own their own, do not require to rest like humans beings, so they can provide service 24 hours for 7 days with only a tiny fraction of electricity. This advantage a lot of individuals as such vehicles allow them to travel without looking at the clock. And finally, driverless vehicles have build in computer which run on batteries. As they are battery powered, so they do not cause harm to the environment which is another big advantage of having driverless vehicles.
To conclude, people believe that upcoming vehicles like cars, buses and trucks will be driverless and individuals travelling inside such vehicles will only be passengers and not drivers. Although everyone have there own views, but I believe that the advantages of having driverless vehicles will surely outweigh the disadvantages in near future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you give several relevant reasons, including employment, road safety, continuous service and reduced environmental harm. This addresses the question, but the comparison with disadvantages is not fully developed: you do not explain what the main risks or costs might be, or why your stated benefits outweigh them. Some supporting points also need clearer explanation. For example, the link between producing vehicles and a lasting rise in employment is asserted rather than demonstrated, while the claim that battery-powered vehicles do not harm the environment is too broad. Develop fewer points with specific examples and directly weigh benefits against drawbacks to make the argument more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present advantages, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing within the body paragraphs is generally understandable, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Apart from this,” and “To conclude” help show the stages of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several points are linked mainly by “So,” “Also,” and “And finally.” Some references are also unclear, as in “This advantage a lot of individuals,” where the relationship between the idea and its effect is difficult to follow. Use a wider range of linking methods, make pronoun references explicit, and organise each paragraph around a central claim followed by explanation or an example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “automated,” “autonomous vehicles,” “traffic rules and regulations,” and “collision,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “individuals,” “vehicles,” “advantage,” and “a lot.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “put there contribution,” “on mass quantities,” and “tiny fraction of electricity.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Aim to use more natural combinations and precise terms for the effects you discuss—for example, employment opportunities, mass production, and energy consumption. Check spelling and word forms as well, since errors such as “there” for “their” are noticeable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “as,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction recur. For example, “castles won't build in a day” needs a passive form, while “a lot of labour is require” and “driverless vehicles are design” have incorrect verb forms. In “vehicles who can drive own their own,” the relative pronoun and clause structure are faulty, and “everyone have there own views” has an agreement error. These patterns show that complex structures are being attempted but are not yet controlled consistently. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, then proofread agreement and articles.
