Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe in the future all transport services will be driverless. Cars, trucks, and buses will no longer need a driver. People travelling inside these vehicles will only be passengers. I believe both statement has a point to be notice and they carry advantages and disadvantage as well.

To commence, right now every single cars, buses, and trucks are drive by a driver attributable to there is no driverless trend is coming up. Every technology requires a person who can operate it. I strongly believe that driverless services are not a complete disaster. It can be utilized in some ways.

Another important benefit is greater convenience and accessibility. People who cannot drive, such as elderly people, individuals with certain disabilities and children, could travel more independently. Furthermore, passengers could use their travelling time to work, study, read or relax instead of concentrating on the road. Driverless public transport could also operate more efficiently, potentially reducing congestion and making journeys more convenient.

Initially, there are several advantages of having driverless cars. To exemplify, passengers have not to worry about their privacy. No suspicious man can be looking after them in the mirror. Moreover, these factors can make a woman fell completely safe. Abundant countries are now making such vehicles. For instance, China and UAE has launched driverless cars. Passengers travel safely in their country and just easily reach their destinations. In future it will leave a very positive effect on the economy if every single citizen experienced the same feeling.

Meanwhile, having driverless vehicles in such countries can also outweigh the disadvantages. However, there are some disadvantages. One concern is that millions of people whose jobs depend on driving, such as taxi drivers, truck drivers and bus drivers, could lose their employment. In addition, autonomous vehicles may malfunction because of software errors, technical failures or unexpected situations on the road. Cybersecurity is another concern, since hackers could potentially interfere with a vehicle's systems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant benefits, including greater independence for people who cannot drive, productive use of travel time, and potentially more efficient public transport. You also acknowledge job losses, technical failures and cybersecurity risks. However, the response does not consistently answer the central question of whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The opening says both sides have a point, while the conclusion-like final paragraph says the advantages outweigh the disadvantages without clearly weighing them or explaining why. Some examples, such as the claims about privacy, women’s safety and countries launching driverless cars, are asserted rather than explained or connected convincingly to the comparison. State your position clearly from the introduction and develop a few reasons that directly support it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has paragraphs and uses signposting such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “However,” so readers can identify several points. Nevertheless, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the second paragraph discusses current driving and technology, the next presents benefits, and the following paragraph returns to advantages before the final paragraph introduces disadvantages. “Initially” does not clearly signal the relationship between these sections, and “Meanwhile” introduces a point that is then contradicted by “However.” Some references, including “these factors,” are unclear. Organise the essay into a clear introduction, a paragraph for advantages, a paragraph for disadvantages, and a conclusion that weighs them. Use linking expressions to show genuine relationships between ideas rather than simply to begin sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “accessibility,” “congestion,” “autonomous vehicles,” “malfunction” and “cybersecurity.” These terms help you discuss both practical benefits and risks, and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but some choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “driverless trend is coming up,” “no suspicious man can be looking after them in the mirror,” and “leave a very positive effect on the economy.” Some repetition of “driverless,” “vehicles” and “advantages” also limits flexibility. Aim for precise, natural collocations—for example, describe a technology as “becoming more widespread” and an outcome as “have a positive impact”—and avoid claims whose wording obscures the intended point.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “People who cannot drive” and a reason clause beginning “since software errors…”. Several sentences communicate their main meaning clearly, and the final discussion of risks is comparatively controlled. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction remain. Examples include “both statement has,” “every single cars…are drive,” “China and UAE has launched,” and “make a woman fell.” The opening also contains a sentence whose structure is difficult to follow: “I believe both statement has a point to be notice.” Review subject–verb agreement and past participles, and check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
