Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, with the advancements in tecnology people think that in future all cars and public transport will be driverless by this all people who travel inside these vehicles would be passengers. I consider that the merits are far more then the demarits.

On the one hand, driverless vehicles have advantages. Firstly, this can reduce the number of accedents on the road because the driverless cars use advance technology and sensors by which that can be detect any kind of obstacles on the road and also obay the trafic rules like control speed limit and stop at red light which is not follow by the people.Hence, it can increse the road safty. Moreover, it also help to save time and reduse stress, driving need concentration by having driverless car thay can focus on other work and not need to take stress thay can relax. This make there journey more comfortable. Furthemore, it is also use full for older people and people who do no know how to drive well due to driverless they just need to sit in the car and simply click a button and go without depending on other people.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantage also. All driverless cars base on sensor and technical components which can lead to technical problems. If system fails, there will possibility of accedents for example, due to heavy rain and fog can effect on the computer sensor of an driverless cars. Besides this it can create unemployment for the people who drive public transport like taxi, buses and trucks. This can cause finaical problems for the people.

In conculsion, Although driverless vehicles may cause technical problems and unemploment, this have more advantage because it can reduce stress and convenient transport.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction—“the merits are far more than the demerits”—and is maintained in the conclusion. You address both sides of the question, giving relevant advantages such as fewer road accidents, reduced stress, and greater access for older people, alongside technical failures and job losses. These points meet the task well. However, some are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that passengers can “focus on other work” could be supported with a specific illustration, and the employment impact is only briefly mentioned. The conclusion also repeats the main view without weighing the benefits against the risks in much detail. More developed examples and comparison would make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. This is a coherent arrangement, though some linking is mechanical and several points are crowded into long sentences. For instance, the first advantage sentence combines sensors, obstacles, traffic rules, speed limits, and red lights, making the progression harder to follow. The reference in “by which that can be detect” is also unclear. Use shorter sentences and connect each explanation directly to its main point to make cohesion more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless vehicles,” “sensors,” “technical problems,” and “unemployment.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “accedents,” “advance technology,” “road safty,” and “finaical problems.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “click a button and go” and “reduce stress and convenient transport.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make parts of it less clear and fluent. Build a bank of accurate transport and technology collocations, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “If system fails, there will possibility of accedents,” and you use clauses to explain causes and effects. However, control is inconsistent: errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “this can be detect,” “it also help,” “there will possibility,” and “this have more advantage.” Several sentences also run together without clear punctuation, particularly the sentence beginning “Moreover, it also help to save time.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete clause patterns, then check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and punctuation.
