Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is predicted that all the vehicles like cars, trucks and busses will be driven automatically and only passengers will be travelling inside them.In my perspective, the benfits of this development wil outweigh the drawbacks.
The main adavantage is improved safety. Most road accidents are caused due to human errors, to exemplify tiredness, dizziness, distraction or over speeding. Driverless vehicles which rely on sensors and software, cannot suffer from these weakness, so they could dramatically reduce collisions and save many lives. Another benefit is efficiency. Computer-controlled vehicles can communicate with eachother, maintain steady speed and choose bestr routes, which reduce traffic issues. Moreover, it can help elderly people who cannot drive to travel longer distances. They wil be stress free.
However, there are some genuine disadvantages. The most obvious is unemployment, people who drive cars, trucks, devos and buses will be jobless. Moreover, it will also cause cyber-attacks and it remain unclear who would take legal responsibility when a driverless vehicles crashes. Another disadvantage is that many thieves can easly steal useful instruments of vehicles that are neccesary to operate them. Furthermore, people may lose their driving skills, so they coiuld not cope of the system failed.
Despite thses concerns, I believe they can be managed. Government can retrain drivers for new roles in areas such as vehicle maintenance and logistics, and strict safety regulations and rigorous testing can reduce technical skills.
In conclusion, although driverless vehciles will create challenges, particularly for employment and safety regulation, their advanatges are greater and the transition is worthwhile

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“the benefits of this development will outweigh the drawbacks”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both sides of the question, giving relevant advantages such as fewer accidents, smoother traffic and greater mobility for older people, alongside concerns about job losses, cyber-attacks and legal responsibility. The safety point is supported with examples of human error, and the proposal to retrain drivers helps explain why you consider the disadvantages manageable. This meets the task well. To strengthen the response further, develop some points more specifically: for example, explain how retraining could realistically support displaced drivers, or give a clearer example of how vehicle communication would reduce congestion. The point about theft of vehicle instruments is also introduced but not explained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: it introduces your view, presents advantages and disadvantages in separate paragraphs, then explains why the concerns can be managed before concluding. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” “Despite these concerns” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument, and the contrast between benefits and drawbacks is easy to understand. Some connections between ideas could be more precise. For instance, the sentence about thieves stealing vehicle instruments appears abruptly, and the final sentence of the disadvantages paragraph shifts to loss of driving skills without explaining how this relates to the earlier concerns. Use clearer referencing and add brief transitions that show the relationship between these points. This would make the progression feel more consistently connected rather than relying mainly on paragraph structure and familiar linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “sensors and software,” “cyber-attacks,” “legal responsibility,” “safety regulations” and “vehicle maintenance.” These choices make the main ideas clear and show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “busses,” “eachother,” “bestr routes,” “useful instruments” and “technical skills” where the context calls for testing. Some wording is also vague, such as “traffic issues” and “new roles.” Aim for accurate spelling and more precise collocations: for example, “reduce congestion,” “vehicle components” and “rigorous testing.” Greater consistency in choosing natural phrases would make your vocabulary more flexible and precise while preserving the clear meaning of your argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mixture of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “vehicles which rely on sensors and software” and a concession structure beginning “although driverless vehicles will create challenges.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the paragraphing gives you room to express several relationships between points. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In “which reduce traffic issues,” the verb does not agree with the singular subject “vehicles”; “it remain unclear” also needs subject–verb agreement. There are problems with articles and number in “when a driverless vehicles crashes,” and the conditional “if the system failed” needs a clearer, consistent structure. Review agreement, singular and plural forms, and conditional clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the range you already attempt.
