Student answer (Band 5.0)
NO, the advantages could never outweigh the disadvantages becuase the driverless cars buses and trucks would'nt be safe enough they could still cause the crash they could change the direction on its own the comparision of the driverless car and the car or buses with driver are huge there are many many thing to argue about it the car with a driver would always be prefferable just becuase its a human being driving which can understand our emotions feeling etc. Driverless has many down side it may run out of battrey it may cause trouble navigating it may not be very helpful, afterall its controlled by artificial intelligence for intance if a passenger is in some sort of danger there would be no one to protect the passenger if the passenger is havaing some sort of medical emergency no one would be there to assist and the most important part of it is that it is artificial intellingence it could be taken over by anyone anytime no matter what the location is the person could hack the car and then command the car on its own risiking life of the passenger. Many time famlies or under 18 kids are travelling alon in the city so this could be very dangerous for them there would be no one to assist them. speaking from my own personal experience i once ordered a driverless cab which surprisingly showed up on time but the problem with it was that the AI system was malfunctioning again and again it was changing the navigation on its own so at the end i cancled the ride myself.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. You support this view with relevant concerns about safety, hacking, medical emergencies and children travelling alone, and the personal example of a malfunctioning driverless cab helps make the argument concrete. This addresses the question, but the response focuses almost entirely on disadvantages and gives little consideration to possible advantages, such as convenience or reduced human error. Some points are also asserted rather than explained: for example, the risk of hacking is mentioned, but its likelihood or consequences are not developed. To strengthen the response, briefly acknowledge the main benefits before explaining why your concerns are more significant, and extend each key reason with clearer explanation or evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The reader can follow your overall position, and the ideas are broadly relevant, moving from safety concerns to assistance, hacking and your personal experience. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the main points are not clearly separated or prioritised. Many ideas are joined in a continuous chain with little punctuation, and connectors such as “afterall” and “so” do not establish clear relationships between all the claims. This makes the progression difficult to follow, especially in the long section about emergencies and hacking. Use separate paragraphs for your position, distinct supporting reasons and conclusion. Within them, use clear linking phrases and refer back to ideas precisely, rather than adding each point to the same sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate several relevant concerns, including “artificial intelligence,” “medical emergency,” “navigation” and “hack.” These terms help make your argument specific. However, the range is limited and some wording is repetitive or imprecise, such as “many many thing to argue about it” and “many down side.” There are also frequent spelling errors, including “becuase,” “battrey,” “intellingence” and “cancled,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the writing. Some phrases are not natural in context, for example “change the direction on its own.” Build a wider set of precise expressions for discussing safety, reliability and benefits, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using longer structures, including the conditional “if a passenger is in some sort of danger” and the explanation beginning “because the driverless cars…”. This shows an effort to express relationships between claims. However, sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing, producing run-on sentences that make the argument hard to process. There are also errors in sentence construction and agreement, as in “the driverless cars buses and trucks would'nt be safe enough they could still cause the crash,” and the question-like phrase “there would be no one to assist” is not consistently integrated into the surrounding sentence. Use full stops to separate complete ideas, check articles and plural forms, and practise combining clauses with accurate punctuation.
