Student answer (Band 5.5)

People who only travel in automobils will be passengers because some credicts give predictions abouts all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. As we see that there will be some advantages of these but i do not think that the advantages of without driver vehicles outweight the disadvantages.

Huge negative point of driverless vehicles will be unemployment. In today's world, most of the people works as car and bus drivers , they spent their whole life as a driver and they don't receive any type of stipend from Government. Secondly , driverless vechicles will not be consider as safe as human driver, because we will be not sure about from where we faced problem , it can be due to softwere malfunction , can be caused by over-charging. And robotic critical thinking will never be as good as human. On the other hand, we can still take advantage from them , one of the most unseen advantage will be freedom, people will not be depended on drivers they can go wherever and whenever they want without any hesitation.

Another disadvantage of driverless vehicles is cost efficiency, while we don't have to pay drivers, but the cost of making driverless car will touch the sky and there regular updating system and subscriptions to different model can be very hectic. Driverless vehicles could create laziness amoung people , most people are used to do things on daily basis but after arrivel of driverless cars and trucks they will become depressed . Whereas, these cars could be benificial for bosting economy such as they can implement this to public buses and school buses.

In conclusion, driverless vehicles should have some advantages but their disadvantages will outweight them, As cost efficiency and safety of passengers would be prioritized, meanwhile , it can provide them freedom which could be positive side.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and you address both sides with relevant points, including unemployment, safety, personal freedom, cost and possible economic benefits. This meets the task’s main requirements. Some ideas, however, are less fully developed than others. For example, you mention software malfunction and overcharging as safety risks, but do not explain how likely or serious these problems might be. The point about driverless vehicles causing depression is also asserted rather than supported, while the economic benefit of using them for buses is only briefly stated. Develop fewer points with explanations or examples, and clarify how each supports your overall judgement. The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The reader can generally follow the contrast between disadvantages and advantages, and linking expressions such as “Secondly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” signal changes in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The second body paragraph moves from cost to laziness and then to economic benefits without explaining how these points connect, and “Whereas” does not form a clear contrast with the preceding sentence. Some transitions feel mechanical, while references such as “them” and “these cars” could be more precise. Group related ideas, use clearer topic sentences, and make each linking phrase express the actual relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “unemployment,” “software malfunction,” “critical thinking,” “subscriptions” and “economy.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning less clear, as in “automobils,” “credicts,” “outweight,” “vechicles” and “benificial.” Some combinations are also unnatural: “cost efficiency” does not clearly express the concern about purchase and maintenance costs, and “touch the sky” is too informal for this essay. Choose accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “manufacturing and maintenance costs” would help you express your arguments clearly and appropriately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while” and “but,” and your overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction recur. For example, “most of the people works” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they spent their whole life as a driver” has inconsistent number and tense. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because its clauses are not joined in a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses; proofread specifically for agreement, tense and complete sentence structure.
