Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern developing era, it is often argued that cars, buses and trucks will becomes driverless in the future. The only passenger can use these transports. However, i partially believe that these development has certain advantages followed by its disadvantages which will be explain in upcoming paragraphs.
One of the key reasons why this trend has certain benefits is conveniency for the passengers. To detail it out, This development offers the users to travel anywhere without drive by own. As a result, they can easily go anywhere where they want. Beside this the users then no need to learn driving lesson because the car will become driverless. Another key reason is saves money on hiring drivers. To elaborate this, if the passengers does not know how to drive so they do not need to hire a driver which saves some amount of money on expenses. Moreover, this development also leads to less traffic and less noise pollution. As the driverless car software knows the rules which they strictly follows and it does not use the horns unnecessary. As a result, it prevents traffic and noise pollution. For instance, user just need to type the address where they want to go and software will choose the best route for easy travel which saves time and money.
Despites the merits, there are some de-merits. Firstly software errors. To explain this, nowadays there are many glitches and errors arise in the new software due to which the software immediately shutdowns in the middle of the road. For an example, some semiautomatic EV's car shuts downs or locks their steering wheel by their own which leads to heavy traffic on road. So, if these type of problem arise in driverless car so the issue will become very difficult to handle. Secondly, higher price and maintenance. To explain it further, this driverless car has high cost of installation of software and their monthly maintenance cost are also higher. As a result, only wealthy families can use this driverless cars.
Conclusively, although this trend has certain advantages such as conveniency, savings, prevents traffic and noise problems. There disadvantages cannot be overlooked such as software errors and high cost can leads to extra problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear, qualified position: you “partially believe” the benefits are accompanied by disadvantages. Relevant advantages include convenience, reduced need to hire drivers, and possible reductions in traffic and noise; you also discuss software failures and cost. These points keep the response focused on the task. However, the position is not fully resolved: the conclusion lists merits and drawbacks but does not say whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Some claims, especially that driverless vehicles will reduce traffic and noise, need clearer explanation or support, while the software-error example is more developed. State your judgement directly and compare the importance of the two sides, supporting the main reasons with specific explanation or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The sequence within each body paragraph is generally understandable, and signposts such as “One of the key reasons,” “Moreover,” and “Firstly” help readers follow the discussion. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger control associated with more flexible cohesion. However, transitions can feel mechanical because several points use repeated frames such as “To explain this” and “As a result.” The conclusion also does not connect the discussion back to a definite answer to the comparison in the question. Use a wider range of linking methods and make relationships between claims explicit rather than relying on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless,” “software errors,” “maintenance cost,” and “noise pollution.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “installation of software” and “locks their steering wheel.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the phrasing awkward: “conveniency,” “de-merits,” “shutdowns,” and “use the horns unnecessary.” Repetition of “development,” “users,” and “As a result” also restricts flexibility. Build a more reliable set of collocations for discussing transport and technology, and check whether each word fits its grammatical role and context. More precise phrasing would make the argument easier to read without changing its ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “if,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “cars, buses and trucks will becomes,” “these development has,” and “the passengers does not know.” Some longer sentences are also difficult to manage, as in “As the driverless car software knows the rules which they strictly follows.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention too, including lowercase “i” and the comma splice in “although this trend has certain advantages … There disadvantages cannot be overlooked.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and divide complex ideas into accurate clauses. This will improve clarity while preserving the range you are attempting.
