Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often believed that in the coming years all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless, whereas people who will use these vehicles will be the only passengers. Although this development may increase the risk of unemployment, I strongly believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
One major advantage of driverless vehicles is that it will improve people's safety. This is because majority of the road accidents are caused by human errors such as over speeding, breaking signals and reckless driving, which can affect people's daily lives. For instance, if people will travel in these vehicles, they may feel much secure without worrying about sudden accidents. Another advantage is that people might become independent because they do not have to wait for the drivers to travel anywhere. As a result, it will save a lot of time and increase human will power to travel everywhere without being dependant on anyone. For example, someone who do not know how to drive, they may access driveless cars for there every day tasks.
Furthermore, driverless trucks and buses could be used for transport services such as exporting material from one place to another, which otherwise took a lot of time and dealers have to wait for a long period. This efficiency of travelling and transporting may increase in the future if this development is accepted by the public. Some believe that driverless vehicles might affect driver's lives because they may have to face unemployment, as many people may prefer cars without drivers. However, I believe these drawbacks can be overcome by giving alternative options to drivers.
In conclusion, although driverless transport system may have some disadvantages such as unemployment, I believe advantages of driverless vehicles such as reduce risk of accidents, increase people's independence and efficient ways to travel outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the benefits outweigh unemployment, and the conclusion restates this view. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including road safety, greater independence and faster transport. The examples about people who cannot drive and the movement of goods help make the discussion relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the link between driverless vehicles and “increase human will power” is unclear, and the transport-efficiency point could explain more precisely how driverless trucks save time. The response therefore covers the task well overall, but its ideas are not consistently extended and supported. To strengthen it, explain the practical impact of each advantage and develop the proposed alternative employment options for drivers.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph focused mainly on benefits, a paragraph that adds transport efficiency and the employment drawback, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help signal examples and contrast, and the main line of argument is easy to follow. Some connections are less smooth, however. The first body paragraph moves from safety to independence without a clear transition, while the sentence about exporting material combines efficiency with dealers’ waiting time in a way that makes the relationship difficult to follow. The conclusion also lists the benefits rather than synthesising the argument. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example’s connection to its main claim explicit; vary linking devices so the progression feels less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “human errors,” “reckless driving,” “unemployment,” and “transport services,” which allows you to discuss both benefits and drawbacks. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “alternative options to drivers.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “breaking signals,” “feel much secure,” “increase human will power,” and “efficient ways to travel.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “driveless,” “there” for “their,” and “dependant” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit the naturalness and flexibility of the vocabulary. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for safety, independence and transport efficiency, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “Although,” “because,” and “which,” as well as conditional forms. This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “because majority of the road accidents” needs an article, “someone who do not know” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “if people will travel” uses an unsuitable tense after “if.” The sentence beginning “For example, someone who…” is also awkwardly constructed, and “advantages … such as reduce risk” lacks a grammatical form after “such as.” Review conditional clauses, agreement and noun phrases, then check that each sentence has a clear, complete structure. More consistent accuracy would make your varied sentences easier to read.
