Student answer (Band 5.5)

We are in the era of modernization where people presume that in future passengers would be the only one who would be travelling inside cars, buses and trucks as well as in other transports and those vehicles would be driverless. There are several advantages as well as disadvantages regarding this matter but i strongly agree that drvierless vehicles have more pros than cons.

To begin with, driverless vehicles have multiple splendid sides firstly, evolutionary driverless transports would be more cost effective because when the government do not have pay the drivers on a monthly basis they would use those saved funds on making transportation cost more cheaper for the citizens who would be using public transports and same goes for car owner they can save money by not hiring drivers for their cars furthermore driverless vehicles can also save time for those who drive their own vehicles auto pilot mood would be used by owner of the vehicles where the owners can easily use those time doing other stuffs.

Matter of concern is, a good amount of peple would loose there job as a driver in the future as the technology would get so advanced that the vehicles would drive by it's own furthermore , some amount of people may feel distress because if any kind of malfunction occurs in those vechles accident may happen which may cause a huge amount of damage though i truely belive proper use and proper technical management would be maintained so there is no change that huge amount of damage may happen

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. You address both sides, giving cost savings and the ability to use travel time productively as benefits, and job losses and possible malfunctions as drawbacks. These are relevant points, but they are not developed equally or in enough detail. For example, the claim that saved wages would make public transport cheaper needs explanation of how those savings would reach passengers. The safety concern could also be supported with a specific example or a clearer comparison with human-driver accidents. Your conclusion is only implied in the final sentence; a brief concluding paragraph that weighs the benefits against the risks would make your answer more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages and one on disadvantages. This helps the reader follow the main direction of your argument. However, the body paragraphs contain several ideas joined into long sentences, so the relationships between points are sometimes unclear. For instance, the advantages paragraph moves from government savings to private car owners and then to using travel time without clear sentence breaks. Linking phrases such as “To begin with” and “Furthermore” are relevant, but some transitions feel mechanical, and the final paragraph does not clearly signal a conclusion. Use shorter sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and add a concluding paragraph that summarises your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “cost effective,” “malfunction,” “technical management,” and “public transports,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the writing less natural and occasionally slow understanding. Examples include “splendid sides,” “auto pilot mood,” “other stuffs,” and “there is no change that,” where the intended meaning is not expressed accurately. There are also repeated spelling errors such as “drvierless,” “peple,” and “vechles.” Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than ornate wording, and proofread carefully. A more controlled range of topic vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “if.” This gives you a basis for expressing reasons and conditions. However, some sentences are overloaded and contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “when the government do not have pay the drivers” needs a correct verb pattern, while “the vehicles would drive by it's own” has problems with passive construction and pronoun form. The long sentence beginning “To begin with” also needs to be divided and punctuated to make its structure clear. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, then combine them using subordinate clauses where appropriate.
