Student answer (Band 5.0)
Technology is grooming very fast, in future cars, buses, trucks will operate without drivers. It can cause serious situations but the advantages of this technology outweigh the disadvantages.
One major advantage is that the accidents become very rare due to this technology. Roads, people become very safe. Self driving become safte duce to computer and sensors which can detect other vehicles and obstacles. Another benefit is that people do not need to drive themselves. They can read newspaper, books, diaries and take rest speciallay for those who travell a long distances at adaily routine.
However driverless vehicles have also some disadvantages like if a sensor did not work it can cause a serious accident on road which is very bad for the passengers lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear overall position in the opening, stating that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify relevant points: fewer accidents, greater safety, convenience for passengers, and the risk of sensor failure. However, the response addresses the task only minimally because these ideas are not explained or supported with examples, and the disadvantage is mentioned only briefly. The essay also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to show a full discussion of whether the benefits outweigh the risks. To improve, explain how driverless systems could reduce human error, consider who might be affected by technical failures, and support your position with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, and a final paragraph about a disadvantage. This makes the main direction understandable, and transitions such as “One major advantage” and “However” help signal the relationship between points. However, the discussion does not progress far beyond listing ideas, and the final paragraph is very short, so the comparison between benefits and drawbacks is not developed. Some links between sentences are also unclear, as in “Roads, people become very safe.” Use complete, logically connected explanations within each paragraph, and add a concluding sentence that restates why one side is stronger.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “driverless vehicles,” “accidents,” “sensors,” “obstacles,” and “passengers,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “Technology is grooming very fast” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “Self driving become safte” is difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “speciallay” and “travell” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise phrases for discussing safety, convenience, and technical risks, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and a more complex conditional idea, as in “if a sensor did not work it can cause a serious accident.” This shows an effort to express cause and consequence, but the conditional verb forms do not match. Errors in sentence structure and agreement are frequent, including “The accidents become very rare,” “Self driving become,” and “people do not need to drive themselves” following an unclear preceding sentence. The response relies mainly on short, simple patterns, with limited accurate variety. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent verb forms; for example, “If a sensor fails, it could cause a serious accident.”
