Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify benefits such as passenger privacy and being able to focus on other tasks, and disadvantages including job losses and cybersecurity risks. However, the response only partially develops the comparison required by the question. The opening mentions technical problems, but these are not explained in the body, while the benefits are also asserted rather than clearly demonstrated. The Tesla example is relevant, but “got the best performance” does not explain what evidence it provides or how it supports your position. Most importantly, the conclusion does not clearly state whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages; it mainly repeats points from both sides. State your view directly and support each main point with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally separates the benefits from the disadvantages, and signposts such as “To start with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “Moreover, advancement in the technology” does not clearly connect its claims about maintenance, congestion and accuracy. The introduction also promises a discussion of outcomes without establishing a clear position, and the conclusion does not resolve the comparison. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and make references such as “this problem” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “driverless,” “employment rate,” “cybersecurity threats,” “sensors” and “accuracy,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make ideas difficult to interpret. For instance, “privacy” does not clearly explain the benefit of travelling without a driver, and “strong grab into the accuracy” is not a natural way to describe automated systems. There are also spelling errors such as “busses,” “auotmation” and “cybersecuity,” alongside imprecise phrases such as “main term for the accidents.” Build a more precise vocabulary for safety, convenience and employment, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “by which they feel secure” and a conditional-style recommendation about what governments should do. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “It will give them the privacy, concentrate on working” lacks a clear grammatical link between the actions, while “the driverless cars will be impacted on the employment rate” uses an incorrect structure. The conclusion also contains incomplete or awkward constructions. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles and prepositions before adding more complex clauses.
