Student answer (Band 5.5)

In coming time the invention of driveless vehicles is expected by the people. They will travel through these cars without any driver. Some people thinks that it will be dangerous to travel in such car, but i think the advantages of driveless cars outweigh the disadvantanges, because it will bring ease to the people in long drives as well as it will reduce the risk of accidents.

Firstly , if driverless vehicles are invented it will make commuting very easy, because sometimes in long routes it become so hectic to drive so long especially when someone is alone. It will be more convenient for any disabled person or female drivers. For instance, if a person who drive 3 hours to his meeting,he will be so tired and will no attend his meeting with full attention but if he use driveless car he will be feeling easy after travelling. Secondly, the driveless cars will be equipped by latest technology which will be so expert in driving and the risk of mistake will be less as compared to human. For example, a human mind is filled with different thoughts all the time which could distracts their focus from driving but on other side the rebots follow the commands from his provider.

On other side some people thinks that it is not so safe to relay on any computer. They thinks that there can be error in the programming system which could lead to any unexpected accidents.

In conclusion, a number of people are not in favour of driverless cars or busses because they expects any malfunction in the system which can leads to any unwanted occuring, But on the other side a major portion of individuals thinks that this invention can facilitate poeple globally and can control wrong driving which is done by human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you give relevant reasons about convenience on long journeys and the possibility of reducing human error. The examples of a tired person travelling to a meeting and distracted drivers help explain these points. You also acknowledge a disadvantage—programming errors could cause accidents—so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, this concern is only briefly stated, and the advantages are not weighed against it in much detail. The point about disabled people and female drivers is also asserted rather than explained. Develop these ideas with clearer reasoning and a specific example of how the benefits compare with the risks to make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph noting a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and “On other side” is used to introduce the counterargument without the natural phrasing “On the other hand.” Some sentences also contain several ideas joined together, making the links between them less clear; for example, the long sentence about a person driving to a meeting moves from fatigue to attention and then to the driverless-car alternative. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing, and ensure the conclusion directly synthesises the comparison rather than repeating opposing views.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “commuting,” “convenient,” “risk of accidents,” and “programming system.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “malfunction” and “distract.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “driveless” should be “driverless,” “rebots” should be “robots,” and “relay on” should be “rely on.” Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, including “in coming time,” “latest technology,” and “unwanted occuring.” Build a more accurate range of collocations for discussing technology and safety, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your meaning more fluent and reduce the effort required from the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if driverless vehicles are invented” and clauses explaining why human drivers may lose focus. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors occur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Some people thinks” should be “Some people think,” while “it become so hectic” needs “it becomes” or “it can become.” In “a person who drive,” the verb should agree with “person,” and “he will no attend” appears to need “he will not attend.” Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and missing spaces after them. Review subject–verb agreement and proofread each sentence for complete, correctly punctuated clauses.
