Student answer (Band 5.5)
Technology is advancing day by day and future it is expected that all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. Their will be no need for a driver in a vehicle as only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers.Although it has many advantages but i believe that their drawbacks are greater then the advantages. This essay will gives reasons why.
Modern technology is of great benefits such as the driverless vehicles alone are very beneficial for the future. As there will be no need for drivers and passengers will have more space to sit inside the car. No need for knowing how to drive a vehicle as the vehicles will be driving themselves. This will drop the extra expenses saves time and help in emergency situations where the driver is not present. This will also drop the accident rates and reduce road rage. This will remove rash driving as Artificial Intelligence will be the one driving the vehicle. This drops the need to be active throughout the travel as cars will be driving on their own and passengers will just have to mark the drop location on their map.
Despite all these heavenly benefits there are still some major flaws which may make this a bad decision. The vehicles are made driverless by training them and feeding data regarding all of the known types of accidents and road conditions, so if by chance a new scenerio or situation comes up the AI has no data do act accordingly, it may even cause an accident. This is the main point where the human mind is greater as it can adapt to different scenerios and act accordingly. Driverless vehicles may act on their own due to misunderstandings of data and cause damages to vehicle as well as the pasengers inside.
In conclusion, driverless vehicles are great for fututre but they still have some flaws and room for improving the design and processing which makes them a dangerous choice for the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and give a clear overall view: you acknowledge benefits but conclude that the remaining flaws make driverless vehicles a dangerous choice. Relevant advantages include reduced driving costs, more passenger space, and potentially fewer accidents; you also explain the risk that AI may not respond well to an unfamiliar situation. However, the comparison is not fully developed. The benefits are listed more than explained, and the conclusion does not directly state whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, despite the position implied by calling the technology dangerous. Develop one or two key points with a specific example, and make the weighing-up explicit so the reader can see why one side is stronger.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on risks, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “Despite” helps the reader follow the shift from advantages to disadvantages, and the main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, however. The benefits paragraph strings together several points with repeated “This will,” while the opening “Although it has many advantages but” uses competing contrast markers. The conclusion also introduces “room for improving” without clearly linking that point to the comparison in the question. Use a wider range of linking methods and make the relationship between each example and your main argument more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless vehicles,” “Artificial Intelligence,” “road rage,” and “road conditions.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “adapt to different scenarios.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, which limits precision: “drop the extra expenses” and “drop the accident rates” would be more naturally expressed as “reduce costs” and “lower accident rates.” Spelling errors such as “scenerio,” “pasengers,” and “fututre” also detract from control. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and proofread spelling; replacing vague phrases like “great benefits” with more precise language would strengthen the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if by chance a new scenario or situation comes up” and a contrast clause beginning “Although.” Meaning is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms occur across the response. For example, “future it is expected” lacks a preposition, “This essay will gives” has an incorrect verb form, and “the AI has no data do act accordingly” has a faulty infinitive construction. There are also agreement and punctuation problems, such as “This will drop the extra expenses saves time” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb, and appropriate punctuation.
