Student answer (Band 6.0)
In few years, the need of human driver for cars, buses and trucks will be reduced to zero becuase of the possibility of driverless vehicles. Passengers will be the only people travelling inside these vehicles.
The driverless vehicles like trucks and buses will help goverment and organisation who needs human to drive for long amount of time. For example, the amount of travel time for a cement truck to reach its destination will reduce significantly because of driverless vehicle as the humans have limit to work and needs rest. This rest time will be removed and throughput of the organisation will increase. This driverless vehicles will also be benificial for individuals needing to commute long distances daily. After an exhaustive day at the work, the need for driving home in a noisy traffic will be gone.
Even if the time and labour can be reduced with the help of driverless vehicles, the safety of the passengers is more concerning. Today, driving license holders are only allowed to drive a vehicle. Driving license is only issued to the drivers who pass the test and have certain level of driving skills. But the reliable skill level of a driverless vehicle can't be determined. Consequently, creating safety issue of passengers.
In my opinion, the driverless vehicles can improve efficiency and throughput as well decrease travel time and need of physical labour but the safety is still concerned. Since safety of the passenger holds the top priority, disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the advantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear position: although driverless vehicles could improve efficiency and reduce commuting burdens, you believe safety concerns outweigh these benefits. The examples of a cement truck and a tired commuter are relevant and help explain the advantages. However, the disadvantages are represented mainly by one concern—uncertain safety—and this point is asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, you could clarify how driverless systems might fail, or acknowledge how testing and regulation could reduce the risk. The benefits are also somewhat general, with limited supporting detail. Developing the safety argument and weighing it more explicitly against the practical gains would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on safety concerns, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Even if,” and “In my opinion” to show relationships between ideas. At times, however, the links are mechanical or the references are unclear. In “This driverless vehicles,” for example, the reference is not smoothly connected to the preceding point, and the shift from efficiency to safety could be more carefully bridged. The conclusion repeats the main position but does not add a final synthesis. Use clearer referencing and connect each paragraph’s reasoning more explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “throughput,” “commute,” “exhaustive,” and “safety,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “physical labour” and “driving skills.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “the need of human driver,” “long amount of time,” and “safety is still concerned” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “becuase,” “goverment,” and “benificial” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional combinations and check spelling carefully; this will help your vocabulary sound more controlled while retaining the relevant topic-specific terms you already use.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “Even if the time and labour can be reduced…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “In few years” needs an article, “organisation who needs” has a number/agreement mismatch, and “the humans have limit to work and needs rest” combines incorrect article use with faulty agreement. The fragment “Consequently, creating safety issue of passengers” is also not a complete sentence. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and review articles and singular/plural agreement. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
