Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed that in the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless and only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. There are higher chances of accidents in a driverless vehicles. Besides, drivers will lose their jobs due to it. So,i think that the advantages of driverless vehicles do not outweigh the disadvantages.
At present, Vehicles are becoming driverless. In the future, it is believed that all cars, buses and trucks will no longer require a driver. In a driverless vehicle, the passengers can go to their desired location without any human interaction. Moreover, traffic laws will be followed all the time and there will be no speeding in the road. The passenger can go to their location much faster as the vehicle will fully depend on gps to follow the destination. So, it will take the shortest route. The payment method will be digital which would be convenient for the passengers. The driver cost will be saved as there will be no driver.
Driverless vehicle is a realistic plan. However, it has some drawbacks. As there will be no driver, there might be chances of accident in the road if the automated machine becomes disfunctional. Besides, the driver will be jobless due to it and the unemployment rate will increase rapidly. For instance, there are lacs of public transport in Bangladesh which requires a driver. If the vehicles become driverless then those lacs of drivers will lose their job causing a negative impact on the economy of Bangladesh.
In conclusion, driverless vehicles will be convenient for the passengers. But, unemployment rate will increase drastically due to it and there will be higher chances of accidents. Thus, i think that the advantages do not outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address both sides, identifying convenience, compliance with traffic laws and reduced driver costs as benefits, and accident risk and unemployment as drawbacks. The Bangladesh example gives the employment point relevant support. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the claim that GPS will ensure the shortest route and make journeys faster is asserted rather than explained, and the accident risk is not illustrated with a specific scenario or evidence. Develop these points and make the comparison between the benefits and harms more explicit to strengthen your response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate discussion of benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the main argument, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “For instance” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: several benefits are listed in sequence without showing how they connect, and “So” is used repeatedly to move between points. Some references are also unclear, such as “due to it,” which does not specify the cause precisely. Use a clearer sequence of topic sentences and explanations, and vary linking methods by showing cause, contrast and consequence directly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless,” “automated machine,” “unemployment rate,” and “digital” payment. Some attempts at more specific language are useful, particularly the reference to public transport in Bangladesh. However, word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive: “higher chances of accidents,” “speeding in the road,” and “the driver will be jobless” sound unnatural in context. Spelling and form also need attention, as in “disfunctional” and “gps.” Aim for more precise transport-related phrasing and check standard spelling and capitalisation. This would make the argument clearer and more natural without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if the automated machine becomes disfunctional” and a relative clause in “public transport in Bangladesh which requires a driver.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “in a driverless vehicles” has a number mismatch, and “the passenger can go to their location” shifts between singular and plural reference. Articles and prepositions also need checking in phrases such as “in the road.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including “So,i” and “i think.” Review agreement, pronoun reference and sentence boundaries, while continuing to practise varied complex structures.
