Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, there are alot of driverless cars in our countries but not populer. Accourding to artificicial intelligence, in future most of the cars, buses and trucks are driverless just passengers are sitting in vahicle without driver. I totally disagree with this tecnology because we totally not depend on machine, if someone hit the car and machine system fluctuated then it cause an accident.

On the one hand, there are alot of advantages of driverless cars. One of the big advantage is some time men slept while driving the car an then it cause an accident. Nowadays, most driveless car travel 10,000 km in one go without any break. Moreover, in transpotation system, drivers take breaks for refreshment, and for sleep whereas driverless truck drop the products with break, it reduced the time without driver expanses.

On the second hand, there are alot of disadvnges as well of driverless cars. One of the big disadvantage, it follow algorithms but some time unexpected things are accures and it is against of algorithm. In that sanario automen cars busses and trucks are unable to do any thing and it caused an accident. Secondly, if the one part is not working from algorithm which is rely to another part at time it aslo cause a big issue.

In conclusion, Driverless cars, busses and trucks are good invention in 20th century we use it but totally not depend on it's algorithms because some time unexpected

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both advantages and disadvantages and state a clear view in the opening: “I totally disagree with this tecnology.” Relevant points include reduced fatigue-related accidents and faster freight delivery, alongside the risk of unexpected situations and system failures. However, the response does not fully answer the key question of whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages: the conclusion says not to depend entirely on algorithms, but does not clearly compare the two sides or restate which outweighs the other. Several claims, such as cars travelling 10,000 km without a break, need explanation or support, and the final sentence is unfinished. The response is also 10 words below the required minimum. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or example and complete the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several points are placed next to one another without explaining how they connect, and “On the second hand” is an inaccurate transition. Repeated use of “One of the big advantage/disadvantage” also makes the organisation feel mechanical. The conclusion ends abruptly at “because some time unexpected,” leaving the argument incomplete. Use transitions that accurately show contrast, and connect each claim to its explanation before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “driverless,” “algorithms,” “transportation system,” and “accident,” so the main topic is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express specific ideas, such as “drivers take breaks for refreshment” and trucks delivering products. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “populer,” “disadvnges,” “sanario,” and “automen.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the car and machine system fluctuated” and “driver expanses.” Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms—for example, describe a system as “malfunctioning” and refer to “operating costs.” Proofread spelling carefully, especially for key topic words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if someone hit the car … then it cause an accident” and a contrast between the two sides. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “it cause an accident” needs a correctly formed verb, while “One of the big advantage is” has a number-agreement problem. The opening sentence also combines several ideas without clear grammatical links, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb tense.
