Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the future all the mediums of transportation will require no drivers only the passengers will be inside the cars, buses and trucks.I think that the disadvantages will outweight the advantages.

Driverless vehicle will not only effect human but also the environment. The use of higher technology require lot of resources which will damaged the reserviour of the environment. It will also affects the humans financial problems because driving is the profession for many people and after driverless vehicles the job of many people will be at risk.

Driverless vehicles will play essential role in safety Because unlike humans machine do not requires to rest or take any break. Many bigger companies would not need to pay drivers.

I personally believe the disadvantages are more then the advantages. As we can not fully trust the technology and risk ourlives.Technology can be a big problem in many time for example as computers can have malfuction and virus attack like that many people will hacked the vehicle and will cause death for many. The other demerit will be increase in the prices for transportation.Because the use of technology will require alot of investment for example In UK the driverless tractors were introduced for farmers but they are so expensive that not many people can afford them.

In conclusion as the advancement of technology in increasing day by day the driverless vehicle will have both pros like safety ,less financial investment for big companies but will also have demerits like environmental impact, and it will be a dream for many people to owning this type of car.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you believe the disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweigh their advantages. You address both sides, noting potential safety benefits and reduced staffing costs for companies, while discussing job losses, environmental resource use, hacking, and expense. These are relevant points, and the UK tractor example helps make the cost argument more concrete. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between vehicle technology and environmental damage needs a clearer account, and the safety benefit is not weighed against the risks in enough detail. The conclusion also lists pros and cons without firmly restating why the disadvantages prevail. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The main points are generally grouped sensibly, and phrases such as “for example” help introduce supporting detail. However, progression within and between paragraphs is uneven. The second paragraph moves from environmental effects to employment, while the next introduces safety and company costs without clearly signalling how these relate to your overall argument. Linking expressions such as “The other demerit” are repetitive, and the final paragraph’s list of advantages and disadvantages does not clearly resolve the comparison. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s purpose, then connect each example explicitly to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “driverless vehicles,” “profession,” “investment,” “malfunction,” and “virus attack,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal expressions such as “essential role” and “environmental impact.” However, word choice, spelling, and collocation errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “outweight,” “reserviour,” “effect human,” and “a dream for many people to owning” are examples. Several phrases are also imprecise, such as “higher technology” and “financial problems.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn natural combinations such as “advanced technology,” “affect people,” and “pose a risk to employment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast with “Because unlike humans…” and a conditional-style example about technology failures. However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “Driverless vehicle will not only effect human” lacks appropriate plural and article forms, while “the use of higher technology require” has subject–verb agreement problems. The sentence beginning “As we can not fully trust…” is a fragment, and “many people will hacked” has an incorrect verb form. Punctuation and capitalisation are also unreliable. Practise complete sentences, agreement, articles, and verb forms before adding more complex structures.
