Student answer (Band 5.5)

Technology has taken place in every field of our lives. It also has changed our lives much as compared to the past.As far as topic is concerned,The technology will make cars, buses and trucks driverless in the near future and we will not have to drive manually.I strongly disagree with the statement that driverless vehicles will give disadvantages. There will be more advantages than manually driven vehicles and I explain some of these in the following lines.

Now a days,We see technology every where in our lives. It is making our work easier and easier. In the near future, Technology is also going to take the places of drivers of our cars, busses and trucks. It will be more beneficial for our lives because we will have more safety in this way.It is proven through the research that most of accidents happen due to tge human errors. When the vehicles are driver less and will be controlled by technology then the passengers will feel more and more safe in travelling. For example,At the night time the drivers often get sleepy while driving and that becomes the cause of accident but technology don't need of sleeping and can continue the travelling as far as you need.

Driverless vehicles also help us to spend our precious time in other activities instead of driving.Technology will handle your vehicle properly and you have your leisure time to do anything you want. For example,When someone is going to his office and He has to make presentation for his office then he has much time to prepare for his presentation without being worry about his driving because technology is doing his work.

The people who couldn't drive himself due to their disability also have a chance to enjoy the driving without doing anything. They can just sit and watch while technology will do his driving and ge can enjoy it and feel happy.

So there ae many advantages of driverless vehicles. It is good for the future planning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages, and you give relevant reasons involving safety, time, and access for people with disabilities. The examples about a tired night-time driver and preparing an office presentation help illustrate your points. However, the response mainly lists benefits and does not meaningfully consider any disadvantages, despite the question asking you to weigh both sides. Several claims, such as that technology will make travel safer, are asserted rather than explained or supported in detail. Develop each main idea further and briefly address a realistic drawback, such as technical failures or job losses, before explaining why the benefits still prevail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for safety, time-saving, and accessibility, and a concluding sentence. This makes the main ideas easy to identify. However, progression is limited: the conclusion simply repeats that there are many advantages, and the essay does not build towards a balanced comparison. Linking phrases such as “For example” are useful, but transitions between the main points are sparse, while “technology” and “driverless vehicles” recur frequently. Some references are also unclear, particularly “he” in the paragraph about people with disabilities. Use clearer transitions to show how each point supports your overall judgement, and make pronoun references precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “human errors,” “passengers,” “disability,” and “presentation.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “technology,” “driving,” and “more and more.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “Technology has taken place in every field,” “enjoy the driving,” and “technology don't need of sleeping.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “tge,” “busses,” and “ae,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms; for example, describe technology as “being adopted across many fields” and refer to “operating a vehicle” rather than “doing his driving.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “while,” so there is some variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “It also has changed our lives much,” “most of accidents happen,” “technology don't need of sleeping,” and “the people who couldn't drive himself.” These show problems with word order, articles, subject–verb agreement, and pronoun agreement. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the opening, where sentences run together without spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a subordinate clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
