Student answer (Band 5.5)

Advancements in technology is unbelievable and it is constantly rising day by day. Many argue that in the distinct future all the transport vehicles such as cars, trucks and buses will be of no driver and will be replaced by artificial technology.Although, in my perspective i firmly believe the benefits of such replacement will be far greater than its harmful effects. This essay will conclude its most of the beneifits along with some harmful consequences which can occur.

As people have started replacing everything with artificial technology which only takes order from people and complete with good accuracy.Multiple benefits can be utilized with such replacement. The primary benefit is that such technologies never get tired or require relax. They can run for several hours and can reach destinations on time without any such break stops as individuals require.Additionally, they reduce the traveling time and makes the passengers reach their destinations way earlier.

Along with traveling for hours , it also reduces accidents.Technologies are advanced programmed and can communicate with others very reliably. With such communication , it reduces accidents which can occur due to misunderstanding between individuals and also remove any traffic jam chances as they are aware of such consequences due to internet access.

However, harmful consequences does occur along with its benefits. There are not many but one of the most dangerous one is the increase in unemployment. To elaborate, replacing artificial technologies with individual drivers can takes a lots of jobs which create unemployment all over the globe. In contrast , millions of jobs will be destroyed due to such technologies and will create such a harmful trend on the society.

To conclude, many arguing over technology replacing drivers in some years due to its far greater benefits rather than its dangerous effects. As it well developed , accidents globally can decrease as they can communicate through each other with internet and does not require break stops which makes them faster and will not delay.Although, unemployment rates will rise rapidly as far greater number of individuals depends on such jobs which can get destroyed with ease.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the benefits of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. You address both sides, identifying reduced fatigue and travel delays, fewer accidents, and unemployment as a drawback. These are relevant points, but some are not fully explained or supported. For example, you claim vehicles will “reduce the traveling time” and prevent traffic jams, but do not explain how they would achieve this or give a concrete example. The unemployment point is more clearly developed, though it repeats the idea that jobs will be lost rather than exploring the scale or possible responses. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms behind each advantage and support key claims with specific examples, while maintaining your position consistently in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally grouped appropriately, and signposts such as “Additionally,” “However,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening of the second paragraph, “As people have started replacing everything,” is an incomplete sentence and does not link smoothly to the main point. The conclusion also repeats several earlier claims rather than bringing them together in a concise final judgement. Improve progression by beginning each body paragraph with a clear topic sentence, linking explanations directly to the claim, and using pronouns and transitions only where their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “artificial technology,” “unemployment,” “destinations,” and “accidents,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “harmful consequences” and “primary benefit.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning awkward: “takes order from people,” “require relax,” and “a harmful trend on the society” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “beneifits” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional combinations and check word forms and spelling. For instance, describe vehicles as “autonomous,” say they “follow instructions,” and refer to “a negative impact on society.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast structure beginning “Although” and a reason introduced by “To elaborate.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, sentence boundaries, and punctuation occur across the response. Examples include “Advancements in technology is,” “they reduce the traveling time and makes,” and “can takes a lots of jobs.” The opening “As people have started replacing everything…” is a dependent clause presented as a complete sentence, while “Although, in my perspective…” is also awkwardly punctuated and structured. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and complete sentence structure, and use complex clauses only when you can control their grammar.
