Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a position in the conclusion: you believe the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages, and you attempt to discuss both sides. However, the response only partially addresses the question because the advantages are not clearly explained or supported. The claim that passengers face “no risk” is too absolute, and the point about saving a driver’s salary is not developed. The disadvantages about food delivery and taking children to school are relevant, but the connection to driverless vehicles is unclear: these services could also use autonomous vehicles. To strengthen the response, explain specific benefits and risks, support each with a realistic example, and make your comparison of which side is stronger clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. The sequence is generally understandable, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is weak: several points are introduced without being explained, and the conclusion does not clearly follow from the examples. Linking expressions are often inaccurate or repetitive, including repeated uses of “whereas” and “than,” which make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Some references, such as “there” and “it,” are unclear. Group related points, explain how each supports your argument, and use linking words only when their meaning fits.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “driverless vehicles,” “passengers,” “salary,” and “technology,” and you attempt to discuss risks and disadvantages. However, the range is limited and many words or phrases are repeated, particularly “driver,” “vehicle,” and “disadvantage.” Frequent spelling errors such as “vechile,” “passanger,” “relavent,” and “disadavantage” make the writing less clear. Several choices are also unnatural or imprecise: “uneducated diver” does not express the likely idea of an inexperienced or unskilled driver, and “keep the driver” is unclear. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to use both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “if,” and “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the intended meaning difficult to understand. For example, “There will taking about the future” has an incorrect verb form, while “there passengers have no risk for there accident” contains problems with sentence structure, articles, and agreement. Subject–verb agreement and pronouns are also inconsistent, as in “if driver are not there.” Punctuation is limited, with some sentences running together. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; check verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
