Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. The driverless cars will effect the employment opportunities also depending on the machines on the busy roads is highly risky. Altough, it will be the great development in the future, people don't have to depend on drivers or learn driving by self. However, the advantages of driverless vehicles cannot outweigh the disadvantages.
The people will have the advantages of driverless cars in future as they don't have to wait for the drivers and they would feel comfortable during their rides as they don't have to share the car with drivers. This will be the great invention for the introverts as they don't like to interact with the people. On the other hand, the people will be free to learn driving and pass the drving test to get the driving licence.
Apart from all these advantages, the people will lose their jobs. And it will cause the unemployment in the certain sector in the future. It's not a wise decision to get a vehicle with artificial intelligence it will only work as programmed, the machine cannot work under the unfortunate situations. In any emergency, the human drivers have the ability to tackle the situation more sensibly.
In conclusion, technology will be developed more and people get multiple of benefits without depending on the other humans but the disadvantages outweigh the advantages as it will cause the unemployment, people will lose their communication skills, and mainly robots will not be able to handle any accident or stressful situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall answer: you argue that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and you mention convenience, employment losses and the limits of machines in emergencies. However, the discussion is only partly developed. For example, the claim that passengers will feel comfortable because they do not share a car with drivers is asserted rather than explained, and the point about people being free to learn driving does not clearly support the benefits of driverless transport. The conclusion adds loss of communication skills, but this concern is not developed in the body. The response is 246 words, below the 250-word minimum; the 21 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop the most relevant points with explanations or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph focused on drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Apart from all these advantages,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the point about learning to drive follows the discussion of convenience without a clear connection, and the final reference to communication skills appears without earlier support. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the opening combines several ideas before the position is clearly established. Group related points more tightly and use linking phrases to show the precise relationship between them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “employment opportunities,” “artificial intelligence,” “unemployment,” and “emergency,” which allows you to discuss both benefits and risks. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision. For instance, “effect the employment opportunities” does not express the intended impact naturally, while “the great invention for the introverts” and “multiple of benefits” are awkward. There are also spelling errors such as “Altough” and “drving.” Aim for more accurate collocations and a wider range of terms for safety, accessibility and job displacement. Proofreading would help make your meaning clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “as,” “however” and “as they don’t have to…”. This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur often enough to make parts of the argument difficult to follow. For example, “The driverless cars will effect the employment opportunities also depending on the machines on the busy roads is highly risky” joins ideas without a workable grammatical structure. Other problems include “people don’t have to depend on drivers or learn driving by self” and “it will cause the unemployment in the certain sector.” Practise building one clear main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses, checking articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
