Student answer (Band 5.0)
now-a-days, technolgy has changed the world. all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless in the future and people would travel inside these vehicles will be passengers. i stronly believe that benefits of driverless vehicles are outweigh the disadvantages.
to begin with, driverless vehicles reduce the chance of accidents. when there is less prediction of accidents, the safety of individuals passengers life is increased. for example, a person can safely move to one city to any other city without ant fear of accidents. therefore, driverless vehicles will prove benefial for people.
futhermore, traffic congestion is also decreased. every car follow the regulation of traffic law. every driverless cars move within speed limit. there is less chance of trafic congestion, when every person follow the rules of traffic. For example, a person do not follow the traffic signal that become major reason of traffic congestion. As a result, traffic congestion will be minimum by driverless transportation.
on the other hand, although driverless transportation have many advantages, there may create wronge direction of route. beacuse they consist of robot system not human, and robot are not work accurately.
in conculsion, travelling inside driver vehicles can increase individual life safety and reduce road congestion problems. we should not ignore the problem. robots are not human, they do not have intelligence like human. there are many chance for mistake.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear view that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages and address both sides, with safety and reduced congestion as advantages and route errors as a disadvantage. However, the ideas are brief and under-developed: the claim that automated vehicles reduce accidents is not explained, and the example about travelling between cities does not show how driverless technology improves safety. The disadvantage is mentioned but not weighed against the benefits. The conclusion repeats the main points and adds that robots lack human intelligence, without resolving this comparison. The response is 217 words, below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each point with a clear explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “to begin with,” “furthermore,” and “on the other hand” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear or repetitive. For instance, the congestion paragraph repeats that following traffic rules reduces congestion, then gives an example that does not clearly connect to driverless vehicles. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than bringing the comparison together. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence, and use pronouns and linking phrases only where their references are clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “driverless vehicles,” “traffic congestion,” “speed limit,” and “traffic signal,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “prediction of accidents” where you mean the likelihood or risk of accidents, and “wronge direction of route.” There are also repeated phrases such as “traffic congestion” and “driverless vehicles,” with few precise alternatives. Build a wider set of accurate terms for safety, automation, and road use, and check spelling carefully. More natural collocations would make your points clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession beginning “although driverless transportation have many advantages.” However, many sentences contain errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, or sentence construction, and these sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “every car follow” needs subject–verb agreement, while “people would travel inside these vehicles will be passengers” combines incompatible verb structures. “There may create” also lacks a clear grammatical subject. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, and attempts to combine ideas are often faulty. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence structures first, then use a wider range of clauses while checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
