Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern world, rapid advancement in technology has made people life easier for transportaion as well as many other services. On that note, it is predicted that, in the future all the vehicles will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. In my opinion, the disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the advantages.

There are numerous drawbacks of driverless vehicles. Firstly, it affects the driver job. If more and more vehicles become driverless than the unemployment will increase considerably. Second, there is a risk of safety, because driverless vehicles have set some program and according to that it drive, but if anything sudden comes to vehicle it will kill them because they cannot stop vehicle immediatly. For example, if driverless car drive in a countryside an something sudden occur like cow or dog or any people it will kill them because it cannot stop sudden.

Moreover, driverless vehicles are very expensive, so people who come from low family income they cannot buy these type of vehicles. Furthermore, driverless vehicles are not possible to drive in all area or on all road because country like India there no advacements in road in most village road are not fully developed so it will not work in all cities or areas. Thus, these are the disadvantages of driverless vehicles.

To conclude, even though driverless car is beneficial for long journey because it helps people to relax without driving continuosly. However, i still believe that these trend has disadvantages outweigh advantages like umemployment, safety risk, very expensive and not work in every area of city.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and the conclusion restates this view. You address the comparison with relevant points about employment, safety, affordability and road conditions, and you include a specific example involving an animal or person appearing suddenly. However, the advantages receive only a brief mention in the conclusion, so the comparison is not explored evenly. Some disadvantages also need fuller explanation: for instance, explain how driverless technology might respond to unexpected obstacles, rather than asserting that it would kill them. Developing the supporting examples and acknowledging possible safety or accessibility benefits would make the argument more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with several points listed rather than developed and connected. The safety example repeats the claim that the vehicle cannot stop, and the conclusion introduces the benefit of relaxing on long journeys without discussing it earlier. Some references are also unclear, such as “these are the disadvantages” after several different points. Group related ideas, explain each point before moving on, and connect the conclusion to benefits and drawbacks already discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless vehicles,” “unemployment,” “safety risk,” and “low family income.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear. For example, “it affects the driver job” and “there no advacements in road” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “employment for drivers” and “roads are poorly developed” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “transportaion,” “immediatly,” and “umemployment” are noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate terms for employment, road infrastructure and vehicle safety, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if driverless car drive in a countryside.” This shows an effort to explain causes and consequences, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “If more and more vehicles become driverless than the unemployment will increase,” where the conditional structure is not controlled, and “it drive” and “it cannot stop vehicle,” which have agreement and article errors. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and capitalisation, such as “However, i still believe.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and conditional forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and complete structure.
