Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear opinion in the opening: “the advantages will not outweigh the disadvantages,” and you begin to support it with a relevant point about reducing accidents caused by driver carelessness, fatigue, or drunk driving. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it develops benefits but does not explain the disadvantages that underpin your position, and the final idea stops at “Another reason will the”. The accident statistic is also asserted without explanation or support. The response is substantially below the required length, so there is not enough development, evidence, or coverage of both sides to answer the task fully. To improve, explain at least one disadvantage, connect each point to your overall judgement, and provide a relevant example or explanation for claims such as the 98% figure.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The opening establishes the topic and your position, and “Initially” signals that you are beginning to organise supporting points. The discussion then moves from a general benefit to road accidents and their causes, so a basic line of thought is visible. However, the response ends mid-sentence, and there is no completed paragraph structure or clear progression to a conclusion. The contrast marker “Although” introduces a concession, but the sentence does not go on to explain the disadvantages, making the relationship between ideas unclear. Build separate paragraphs for your position, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. Use linking phrases to show how each point supports your view, and ensure every sentence is complete before moving to the next idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “road accidents,” “carelessness,” “drunk driving,” “fatigue,” and “modern technology,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “automatic vehicles” and “prevention of road accidents.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “vehivles,” “benificial,” “myabe,” and “unconsiousness.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “In upcoming era” and “possibilies for accidents.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for this topic—for example, “driverless vehicles,” “reduce the risk of collisions,” and “human error”—and check spelling carefully. This will make your ideas easier to understand and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and a more complex sentence beginning “Although,” showing some awareness of sentence variety. The opening also communicates a basic position clearly. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, and agreement occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “There will no driver” is missing a verb, “98% accidents can be prevent” has an incorrect passive form, and “it has some disadvantages” does not agree with the plural subject “vehicles.” The phrase “Another reason will the” is incomplete. Practise complete sentence patterns, especially passive forms such as “accidents can be prevented,” and check that subjects and verbs agree. Read each sentence aloud to catch missing words and unfinished clauses.
