Student answer (Band 5.5)
In coming years all of the cars, buses and truck will be on the road without drivers. The person travelling in those cars will only be passangers which makes it more dangerous compared to the car drive by the driver.
The biggest disadvantage of the driverless vehicles is the judgement. If look closely AI cant be trusted with the judgement, the only thing making humans better then AI is judgement. With the driverless vehicles you cant deal with the techinical fault for instance lets say the driverless car cant recognize the voice of their owner, how to deal it with it? The driverless vehicles will make lot of loss to the global economy by eliminating the tacxi driver. The big disadvatnge of driverless vehicles is who will be kept responsible durning the accident the one who makes the car, the dtriver or the software developer? Another main drawback of the driverless car is the connected car can be easily hacked and tracked the moment of people.
On the other hand there are many advantages like the owner of the driverless car just need to put the end destination and the car will be drive him to the end destination. For instance lets say the person coming back from office to home at the worst day wont feel pressure on how to drive back home back. The another reason of driverless vehicles is it will save us a lot of oil and wont damage the environment by the emission of carbon dioxide.
In conclusion the driverless car have more disadvatnges including the security concerns, the bad weather, the elimination of jobs compared to its advantages that only include accessiblity, and comfort of the owner.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the question by presenting disadvantages and advantages, then state a clear overall view: disadvantages outweigh advantages. Relevant points include safety and judgement, job losses, responsibility after accidents, hacking, convenience, and emissions. However, several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that AI cannot be trusted with judgement needs a specific reason or example, and the question about recognising an owner’s voice is not clearly connected to how driverless cars operate. The environmental benefit is also stated without explaining how these vehicles would reduce oil use or emissions. Develop fewer points with clearer reasoning and relevant examples, and make the comparison between the two sides more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph focused mainly on disadvantages, a paragraph on advantages, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the disadvantages paragraph moves from judgement to a technical fault, employment, legal responsibility, and hacking without clearly linking or prioritising them. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly the voice-recognition example and the sentence about the owner’s journey home. Use clearer topic sentences and organise related points together; then explain each point before moving to the next. More precise referencing would also help readers follow what “it” and “the moment” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “driverless vehicles,” “technical fault,” “global economy,” “hacked,” and “carbon dioxide,” so the main subject is clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “the moment of people,” “make lot of loss,” and “the car will be drive him.” Repetition of “driverless vehicles” and “disadvantages” also makes the writing less flexible. Spelling errors—including “passangers,” “disadvatnge,” and “accessiblity”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, describe risks to passengers’ privacy rather than using the unclear phrase “the moment of people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “lets say” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently affect clarity. Examples include “the car will be drive him,” “the driverless car have,” and “If look closely AI cant be trusted,” where the subject or verb form is missing or incorrect. Several sentences also run together, as in the opening and the question about technical faults. Practise building complete clauses with a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use full stops to separate ideas. Check agreement and articles when editing.
