Student answer (Band 6.5)
People of contemporary society are leaning towards the idea that in the future, vehicles wouldn't need drivers and the only ones travelling in them would be passengers. Athough this idea testifies to the advancement of schience and technology in the future, I believe the disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweighs the advantages.
On the one hand, the advantages of driverless vehicles can't be overlooked. One of the main advantages of this is now even physically challenged people can own cars. Many disabled people have problems with their daily movement from one place to another. But with driverless transport, they can travel with their own vehicles. For instance, people with amputated limbs may have trouble with driving. But an automated driving system removes that obstacle. Many public transports work until midnight when their drivers finishees their work. But if automated automobiles are brought in, then this problem can be removed. Many people working night shifts or doctors in hospitals get off their work late at night. Automated automobiles makes it possible for people to use transportation whenever they want.
On the other hand, there arises some problems involving safety in public transportation. While driving, people take the liability of their lives as well as the well-being of others in the street due to having a conscience. Automated vehicles run by AI, lacks this quality. There may be sensors present in the vehicles, but AI may not be able to take measures involving unexpected situations such as people suddenly crossing the road. Second reason being that, sometimes poor people take the job of driving. Many people earn their livelihood through this profession. Introducing driverless vehicles will cause them to lose their jobs, consequently making them unemployed. This may cause some drawbacks in the economy of the country as people are losing their jobs.
I believe, the system of driverless vehicles should be introduced in some cars so that people with actual necessesity can use them. Again, we can work to make drivers of public vehicles work between two shifts so that the problem regarding late-night transportation ca be eradicated. Taking pragmatic steps, we can effectively remove the disadvantages of driverless vehicles and use it for our convenience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and the conclusion returns to this view while suggesting limited use of driverless vehicles. You address both sides with relevant points, including greater mobility for disabled people and late-night travel, alongside safety concerns and job losses. The examples about people with amputated limbs and night-shift workers help make the benefits concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that AI lacks a human conscience does not show precisely how this would lead to more accidents, and the economic effects of job losses are only briefly mentioned. The response therefore covers the task well, but some ideas need fuller development and support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “I believe” make the direction of the argument easy to follow. The examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. However, some linking is mechanical, and the sequence within paragraphs could be smoother. In the disadvantages paragraph, “Second reason being that” is an awkward transition, while the final paragraph introduces solutions without clearly connecting them to the claim that disadvantages outweigh advantages. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and make the relationship between each reason, its example, and your overall judgement explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “physically challenged,” “automated driving system,” “liability,” and “livelihood.” These choices help communicate relevant ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “pragmatic steps,” though some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural: “testifies to the advancement” is not a natural way to describe technological progress, and “public transports” is not the usual form. Spelling errors such as “Athough,” “schience,” and “necessesity,” together with forms such as “finishees,” reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this would make your vocabulary more precise and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“if automated automobiles are brought in”) and clauses beginning with “While” and “so that.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inaccurate in “the disadvantages … outweighs,” “Automated automobiles makes,” and “AI … lacks” after the plural subject “vehicles.” There are also problems with sentence construction, as in “Second reason being that,” and punctuation after “I believe” is unnecessary. Review agreement, complete sentence structure, and punctuation, then proofread longer sentences. More consistently accurate control of these forms would strengthen the range you already attempt.
