Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the present world science has imvented several technologies . All of these are very amazing . Driverless vehicle will be one of the greatest invention of modern science . Here no driver will be needed to operate or instruct the vehicles like cars, buses and trucks. Passengers will be able to enjoy their travel by watching the natural view from window . No one will have to drive car .

I think this invention will add a different dimension to the modern science . Though every coin has its opposite side but I beilive that this invention has greater advantages than its disadvantages .

Driverless vehicles will be operated through automatically . So here will be less chances of occuring accident . As we observe most of the accidents has occured due to the fault of the driver at present days . Violation of traffic rules will be minimezed . As vehecles will scence the rules or directions through its peocessors no traffic polices will be needed of rules . At the same the unpredictable and sick competetion of drivres on the road will be removed . People will get relief from boring driving for a long time when they go for a long drive . People will be able to enjoy their journey and spend a quality family time also.

There are so many disadvantages like if the operating system will fail to work on road , it will have created a dangerous situation . At the same time it will make people more depending on technologies rather than hard working . This invention will make peaple more lazy .

Avoiding few of these disadvantages Driverless vehicles will be one of the greatest invention in modern world . At the same time it will be able to reduce the sufferings of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you address both sides of the question. The points about reducing accidents caused by driver error, improving compliance with traffic rules, and allowing passengers to enjoy journeys are relevant. You also acknowledge risks such as system failure and increased dependence on technology. However, several points are asserted rather than explained: for example, you do not show how automated vehicles would reduce accidents or what might happen if their systems fail. The claim that no traffic police would be needed is also not fully supported. Develop fewer ideas with specific explanations or examples, and make the comparison between the benefits and risks more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction and opinion, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward. For instance, “At the same time” appears to introduce different points, while “Avoiding few of these disadvantages” does not clearly connect the conclusion to the preceding discussion. Some ideas, such as reduced accidents and fewer traffic police, are placed together without explaining their relationship. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and use referencing and transitions that show precisely how ideas connect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “operating system,” “traffic rules,” “accidents,” and “passengers,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “unpredictable competition” and “quality family time.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “imvented,” “vehecles,” “scence,” and “minimezed.” Several phrases are also unnatural, including “operated through automatically” and “a different dimension to the modern science.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for technology and transport. Aim for precise, natural wording rather than adding ambitious phrases that do not fit the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and more complex forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Though every coin has its opposite side” and a conditional idea about system failure. This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent. Examples include “Driverless vehicle will be one of the greatest invention,” where number and article forms need attention, and “most of the accidents has occured,” where subject–verb agreement and tense are inaccurate. The sentence “if the operating system will fail to work” also uses an unsuitable verb form after “if.” Review agreement, articles, plurals, and conditional structures, then proofread each sentence. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
