Student answer (Band 5.5)
In upcoming years, all the light and heavy vechicles such as cars, buses and trucks will be autopilot. Although this development has some disadvantages, such as frequent accident and high maintainance cost, I believe it's advantages, particularly easier long travelling and not mandatory to hire driver for the travelling outweigh these drawbacks.
One of the significant benefits of driverless vechicles is it makes long journey easier. Driver do not need to heavily focus on road and stiring of the automobiles which help them to enjoy their travelling vaccations. These facilities allow driver to have some rest and relax inside the car. Another important benefit is that, the owner who doesnot have skill of driving not need to worry about drivers as the vechiles are autopilot, they operates with minor skills. This also saves the cost need to pay for drivers. For example: The tesla car can operates without drivers or requires drivers to have little skill on driving.
Despites these advantages, driverless vechicles has certain disadvantages.Firstly, these types of development in automobiles increases the risk of accidents. The car may get confuse with the fallen tree and may collpase. Secondly, autopilot vechicles are expensive for their maintainances becasue new software and advance parts are used and also more skilled technical manpower are required. For instance; The cost of tesla car maintainace is higher as compare to non autopilot vechicles.
In conclusion, although autopilot vechicles may cause frequent accidents and require higher cost for the proper maintainance, I believe its benefits outweigh its drawbacks, particularly becasue it allows driver to rest and save cost need to pay for drivers when they hire.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The two advantages—making journeys more relaxing and reducing the need to hire a driver—are relevant, as are the risks of accidents and higher maintenance costs. The Tesla example gives some support, but it is asserted rather than explained, and the accident point (“may get confuse with the fallen tree”) is unclear about how or why this would happen. The discussion therefore covers the task, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms and consequences of each point, and make the comparison explicit—for example, why the convenience and savings are more significant than the safety and cost concerns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Another important benefit,” “Firstly,” and “Secondly” help identify the points. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some references are not clear: “These facilities” does not precisely identify the benefit being discussed, while “its benefits” in the conclusion could refer to the vehicles or the development. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing the comparison together. Use a wider range of natural links and clearer referencing, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “driverless vehicles,” “risk of accidents,” “software,” and “technical manpower,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable throughout, including “vechicles,” “maintainance,” “stiring,” and “collpase.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “long travelling,” “travelling vaccations,” and “cost need to pay for drivers.” These issues make the expression less precise and sometimes require the reader to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, such as “long-distance journeys,” “maintenance costs,” and “hire a driver.” Aim for precise topic vocabulary rather than repeating “autopilot” and “benefit.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although this development has some disadvantages” and a contrast introduced by “Despite these advantages.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms recur. For example, “Driver do not need” needs subject–verb agreement, and “the owner … not need to worry” is missing an auxiliary. In “the car may get confuse,” the verb form is incorrect; “they operates” also has faulty agreement. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries need attention, as in “a significant benefits” and “disadvantages.Firstly.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, then review articles, agreement, and punctuation.
