Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the future the only people travelling inside cars, buses and tucks will be passengers. In my perspective, although there are some drawbacks in the adopting of the driverless vehicles there are many advantages in them.

Driverless vehicles can minimize the human errors. Nowadays, many accidents are caused due to human negligence. By adopting these technology the chance of happening accidents will be almost reduced to zero resulting in safe journey of the people allover the place. Likewise, transportation of the goods truck drivers play a vital role to deliver within time. Many sleepless nights made to do this happen. By adopting driverless trucks the mobility of transport via trucks will be convinient. Moreover, elder and disabled people cannot travel on their own. Driverless cars can facilitate them to travel on their own to longer distance without any help. As a result, these cars build self confidence in disabled people.

On the other side, the introduction of driverless vehicles end up in lose of jobs. Many jobs such as drivers and cleaners are been removed. As a result, this will endup in livelihood of those people. And excessive use of machines will end up in make us more depend on machines. For example, if driverless cars are introduced we are much facilated to the machines and depend on them which completly effect our lifestyle.

In conclusion, Although there are some disadvantages by adopting the driverless cars there are some possible ways to eliminate them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You present a clear overall view that the benefits of driverless vehicles outweigh their drawbacks, and you give relevant reasons: fewer accidents, easier transport of goods, greater independence for older and disabled people, and possible job losses. However, the conclusion does not clearly restate why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and the claim that drawbacks can be eliminated is not explained. Several points are also brief: for example, the effect of dependence on machines is asserted but not developed, while the benefits receive more detail. The response is six words below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop the comparison between benefits and costs and support key claims with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph focused on benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” help signal shifts. However, some links between ideas are abrupt or unclear. The sentence about truck drivers and sleepless nights, for instance, does not fully explain how automation improves delivery. The final paragraph is also too brief to bring the comparison together. Use clearer links within paragraphs and make each example explicitly support the point before moving to the next idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “human errors,” “transportation of the goods,” “livelihood,” and “disabled people,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “self confidence.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “tucks,” “convinient,” “facilated,” and “completly” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “the adopting of the driverless vehicles” and “end up in livelihood.” These issues fit a response with a limited but adequate range and uneven control. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; for example, use “adoption of driverless vehicles” and “result in job losses.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although there are some drawbacks…”) and a result clause (“As a result, these cars build self confidence…”). The overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Many sleepless nights made to do this happen” lacks a clear grammatical subject and verb structure, while “Many jobs such as drivers and cleaners are been removed” uses an incorrect passive form. “Although there are some disadvantages… there are some possible ways” also needs clearer punctuation and a more complete contrast. Practise accurate passive constructions and check each sentence for a complete clause.
