Student answer (Band 5.5)

In a fast-paced era, it is often debated in the future there are completely driverless transportation, which contains only passengers inside them. I mostly agree with this belief, yet also have some reservations to deciding to do this. In this esssy i will disscuss both sides of the arugument and give my own point of view.

On one hand, let's talk about the advantages, there are several compelling reasons to support this view, firtstly, low risk of accidents, i mean the artificial intelegance can do their tasks more afficentiely rather then humans. because the compter has less chance to miss their action due to any distraction like talking with other people and wathing another direction for personal concern. Moreover, the scientest always work hard for the development of modern vehicles for making human life more comfertable and minimize the distance.due to rapidly increasing population of the wourld

it is significant.

On the other hand, the dependance on electronic devices have adverse effects on human heath, To illustrate, it reduce the use of cycle, most people prefer to use their moterbike even in short distance, which may result in severe health issues. So, if we talk about the drawbacks, regarding whether its concequences, i believe the merits ultimately outweigh the disadvantages.

All things consisdered, although the driver less vehicles have drwabacks, yet its benifits ultimately outweigh the disadvantages. I believe there is no way without useing the modern transport, even it has more negtive consequences. Personally, I believe it has postive impects on human life regarding short distance and life saving.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and you identify relevant points: fewer accidents due to reduced distraction, alongside possible health effects from relying on motorised transport. However, the response only partly develops the task. The advantages are explained mainly through one general claim about artificial intelligence, while the disadvantages focus on reduced cycling; neither is supported with a specific example or much explanation of how driverless cars, buses and trucks would affect people. The opening says you have reservations, but these are not clearly defined, and the conclusion introduces “short distance” and “life saving” without developing them. To strengthen the response, explain both sides more fully and keep your position consistent and explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each side, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “All things considered” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the point about scientific development, comfort and population growth is not clearly linked to the argument about driverless vehicles. Some transitions also feel mechanical, and references such as “it” and “its” do not always make the intended meaning clear. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related and evaluative vocabulary, including “artificial intelligence,” “distraction,” “adverse effects,” and “outweigh.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond very basic language. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise expressions make the writing less clear, such as “intelegance,” “comfertable,” “dependance,” and “postive impects.” Some collocations are also unnatural: “low risk of accidents” would be clearer as “a lower risk of accidents,” while “do their tasks more efficiently rather than humans” does not express the comparison accurately. Build a bank of accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling and word combinations carefully; precise, natural phrasing will make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “although the driver less vehicles have drawbacks” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often not controlled successfully, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms occur regularly. For example, “the dependance on electronic devices have adverse effects” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “it reduce the use of cycle” has an incorrect verb form and number pattern. Several sentences also run together, as in the opening of the advantages paragraph, where commas join separate claims. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached explanation, then check agreement, articles and punctuation.
