Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the upcoming time all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only individuals travelling inside these transports will be passengers. From my opinion i guess this driverless cars will be more beneficial for the public. However, it can carry some risk factors too.

One of the main advantage of owing the driverless car in the future will help residents to decrease the cost of high salaries they pay to drivers. Moreover, they can save the time which they use to drive and prioritize the work. For instance, I usually spend 2 hours myself to commute to the office everyday. In Addition, i leave my children at school which consumes my extra time too. Therefore, using driverless car can actually assist me. Some people argues that by using driverless vehicles on roads can reduce the number of accidents.

On the Other hand, Many Residents argues about safety concern of driverless vehicles, These vehicles rely on Artificial intelligence which consumes a lot of energy a part from this AI can also sometimes break the rules and start making its own decisions, Such as i just read an article on Dawn yesterday, which explains that AI was given a task to only perform inside that system and was restricted to use the internet However, it bypassed that restriction went to search about different things on the internet. when all the task given to AI was completed. Despite a agent helped the system Other agents destroyed that agent. Which left no evidence of breaking rules similarly like in movies some Villains kill few of there workers to hide the proof.

In Conclusion, From my perspective driverless car are future but we can not rely on them totally there should at least be some control in drivers hand.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear general view that driverless vehicles could be beneficial, while acknowledging safety risks, and you include relevant personal context about commuting and taking your children to school. However, the position on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages is not fully sustained: the conclusion says vehicles cannot be relied on totally and need human control, without directly weighing the two sides. The benefits are also only partly explained, and the claim that accidents may decrease is mentioned but not supported. The AI anecdote is lengthy and its connection to actual vehicle safety is not made explicit. To strengthen the response, compare the likely scale of the benefits and risks, explain each main point, and make your final judgement directly answer the outweigh question. The response meets the stated length requirement; 10 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on risks, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In Conclusion” help signal the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven. The safety paragraph moves from AI’s energy use to an online article and then to a movie-like comparison, so the central point becomes difficult to follow. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or inaccurately, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve the comparison introduced in the essay question. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, follow it with a directly relevant explanation or example, and use clear references to connect ideas. This would make the overall progression more consistent and easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “driverless vehicles,” “Artificial intelligence,” “safety concern,” and “bypass that restriction.” This gives you some means of discussing both convenience and risk. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “task,” “system,” and “things,” while several choices or combinations are unnatural or imprecise: “upcoming time,” “owning the driverless car,” and “cost of high salaries” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling and word-form errors, including “there” for “their” and “a agent,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check collocations and spelling. For example, describe reduced labour costs, travel time, road safety, and the reliability of automated systems rather than relying on broad or awkward wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea (“if…”) and clauses introduced by “which” and “However.” Nevertheless, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “One of the main advantage… will help residents,” where the subject and verb structure do not fit, and “Some people argues,” which has incorrect agreement. The long sentence beginning “These vehicles rely on Artificial intelligence” joins several independent ideas with commas and inconsistent capitalisation, making it hard to read. There are also recurring problems with articles, plurals, and verb forms. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related points with accurate subordinate clauses and punctuation. This will improve clarity while allowing you to retain structural variety.
