Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that paying others is beneficial, and you include relevant examples such as hiring a driver and getting help with laundry. However, the task asks two questions, and the second—whether people should do these tasks themselves—is only briefly addressed through the point that some people want to save money. The discussion does not clearly explain when doing chores personally might be preferable, and several examples are difficult to follow, such as the claim that workers cannot wash clothes because they lack knowledge. Develop both sides with clearer reasons and explain your position in relation to each question. The response meets the required length; the 10 words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding paragraph, so there is some basic organisation. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within the paragraphs: the first moves from laundry to driving and repeats the point about hiring a driver, while the second shifts quickly from saving money to washing clothes and buying products. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore,” “Although,” and “As a result” are sometimes used inaccurately or do not show a clear relationship between ideas. Group related points together, use each paragraph to develop one main idea, and make references such as “they” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “household chores,” “hire,” “driver,” and “essential products,” and the reader can generally identify the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “it is good way” and “a waste money” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “confortable” is misspelled and “Job workers” is unclear. Repeated use of “pay,” “hire,” and “clothes” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for domestic services, convenience, and personal responsibility, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple patterns, and attempts to connect clauses with “because” and “although” show some effort to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “numerous people to pay somebody,” “One the one hand,” and “they hire a workers and clean,” where sentence structure, articles, or agreement are not controlled. There are also inconsistent capital letters and punctuation, as in “Furthermore, they hire driver. it is…” Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences, check singular and plural agreement and articles, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
