Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of job creation and the personal value of doing tasks oneself. However, the development is somewhat limited. The arguments are presented but lack depth and specific, well-supported examples. The response is also slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the overall development of the ideas. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In the support of previous arguments'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the overall progression is logical, the transitions between ideas could be more sophisticated to better guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of non-standard phrasing, such as 'for their breads and butters' and 'each task of daily life'. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there are errors in word choice and collocation that prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding informal idioms would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'I am partly agree', 'today generations', 'many people's are living', and 'there is no proof money can buy happiness' (missing 'that'). Additionally, there are issues with pluralization, such as 'children's' instead of 'children'. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall accuracy of the writing.
