In the contemporary world, the fairness cream industry has emerged as one of the most profitable categories. This essay will elaborate on the possible reasons behind this phenomenon and discuss about impacts on health and society.
Out of many reasons, one of the most prominent one is the insecurity of individual about their appearance. While, it is a comprehensive belief among people that a color of the skin doesn't depict one's beauty, a major segment of the population feels insecure about their skin color. Additionally, these people, are usually appear to be obsessed with whiter skin. This approach consequently results in an enormous sells growth of beauty products aspecially fairness creams. For instance, in south indian region, where people usually have darker skin tone compared to north region, it is observed that fairness products have more sales compare to north india.
Moreover, this approach has several adverse effects on the community and health of the people. The beauty products allegedly add harmful chemicals and additives in their products in order to enhance their effectivity. Even though the information about their side-effects is clearly mentioned in product description, consumers are inclined to buy these items. Another major concern is how this tendency impact on the young generation of the society. when products are advertised, not only does that marketing shows how great the product is, but it also depict how a person with fair skin gets more opportunities compared to other ones. This tendency influence the perspective of the society.
To conclude, if the presentation of product appears to impact the behaviour of the entire community, appropriate actions should be taken to address the issue, in order to prevent the potential discrimination towards the specific race in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt provided in the instructions asks about the ethics and implications of paying others to perform household chores or childcare. However, the student has written an essay about the skin-whitening industry. As the response fails to address the actual task question entirely, it cannot be assessed for task achievement in relation to the prompt. According to IELTS criteria, a response that is off-topic must be penalised heavily in this category, as it does not address the requirements of the task at all.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
Despite being off-topic, the essay itself is structured logically. It uses clear paragraphing with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used to link ideas, although some transitions are slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas within the essay is clear, and the writer maintains a consistent focus on the topic they chose to write about. The paragraphing is sufficient and helps the reader follow the argument, even though the argument is irrelevant to the actual exam prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task. There are attempts to use topic-specific language such as 'phenomenon', 'comprehensive', 'obsessed', and 'adverse effects'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'enormous sells growth' (should be 'sales growth') and 'aspecially' (spelling error). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. The errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'one of the most prominent one is' (should be 'ones'), 'insecurity of individual' (should be 'individuals'), and 'these people, are usually appear' (incorrect verb structure). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are minor issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While the errors are frequent, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the writer's intended meaning. The range of structures is limited but functional.
