Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, People pay other to do jobs as they do not have time for it, For instance, housekeeping and childcare. While some people believe that people have to do their jobs by their own but I think hiring others can be beneficial because it creates employment opportunities and help people to manage their busy life.

On the one hand, paying someone to perform household chores is a good way of providing work for others. Many people earn a living by offering services such as cleaning, babysitting, cooking, and home maintenance. These type of jobs are valuable for the part time students and those who need flexible valuable hours. As a result, hiring workers for their help can contribute to the economy and reduce unemployment.

On the other hand, there are certain tasks that people should try to do themselves. Household chores teach responsibility and help individuals to develop their practical life skills. In addition parents who spend time caring for their children as it make a strong relationship between them and it is good for their physical health that do their work own and trust on the other strange person for their own family is very dangerous.

In conclusion, as the my opinion paying others to do household work is a very good way to reduce unemployment but on the other side individuals also have to do their household work on their own as its make a good relationship between them and it is also good for their health and to get know about their responsibility.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the economic benefits of hiring help and the personal value of performing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'danger' of trusting strangers is asserted but not fully explained or supported with a concrete example. While the response covers all requirements, the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band by providing more nuanced reasoning for why personal involvement in childcare is superior to outsourcing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In addition' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions, such as the concluding sentence which is quite long and slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between ideas within the paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at more specific vocabulary like 'employment opportunities' and 'flexible hours'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'do their work own' instead of 'do their own work' and 'strange person' instead of 'stranger'. The range is sufficient for the task, but more sophisticated collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary would be needed for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('it make a strong relationship'), article usage, and word order ('do their work own'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and comma splices. These errors do not typically impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic sentence construction and proofreading would be beneficial.
