Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide a clear position, the arguments regarding the economic benefits of hiring helpers are underdeveloped. The example regarding nannies is relevant but could be expanded to better illustrate the complexity of the issue. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' behind your opinions, rather than just stating them. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and could more effectively synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In the beginning,' 'Nonetheless,' and 'Moreover.' However, some of these transitions are used incorrectly or sound unnatural, such as 'In the beginning' to start a body paragraph, which is not appropriate for this context. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, 'they' is used frequently without a clear antecedent. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that your pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors. For example, 'vest number' (likely meaning 'vast number') and 'bread-winner' (which should be 'breadwinners') are incorrect. Phrases like 'unwanted demands of children' are slightly unnatural. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision in word choice occasionally hinders the flow of your ideas. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for basic spelling and word-form errors, such as ensuring subject-verb agreement and correct pluralization.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('individuals are sometimes fails'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction ('it should be best approach to do house work by people'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, particularly the use of articles and verb tenses, and try to incorporate more complex structures like conditional sentences or relative clauses with greater accuracy.
