Student answer (Band 6.0)
I want to discuss about how some people pay some other to do things that they don't want to do, or don't have time to do, for example household works or babysitting.
Firstly, now-a-days lot of people don't have enough time look after their children so they are paying someone to look after them. For example, in my country there are childcare center's to take care of the kids because their parents are working professionals and they wont have enough time to take care of children. Secondly, I want to talk about some elder people who can't do their household works like cleaning the house, so they pay someone to do this job. For example, they will hire some people to clean the house.
In my Opinion, in recent times there are lot of childcare center's taking place in my country according to me the parents of the children should take care of their kids. For the second statement it is a good way of providing work to others, for elder people they can't manage their own work by themselves because they don't have enough strength to do their household works.
To conclude, both the topics have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the people should know how to do their things or works by themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the provision of work and the necessity of self-reliance. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which restricts the depth of the argument and prevents a full exploration of the topic. The position is stated but lacks the nuance and detailed support required for a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your arguments with more specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the use of cohesive devices is limited. Phrases like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' are used, but the transitions between sentences are often abrupt. The concluding paragraph is very brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There is frequent repetition of basic terms such as 'things', 'work', and 'take care of'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'taking place' when referring to childcare centers. There are also minor errors in punctuation, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in 'center's'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a broader command of the English language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'discuss about' (should be 'discuss'), 'some other' (should be 'others'), and 'won't have' (should be 'do not have'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization issues are also present. The range of complex structures is very limited, which restricts the ability to express more sophisticated ideas. Focusing on sentence variety and correcting basic subject-verb agreement errors will significantly improve your score in this criterion.
