Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether it provides work for others and whether people should do these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding the 'bleak future' for children raised by others is a strong point, but it lacks depth. The discussion on providing work for others is briefly mentioned but not fully explored in terms of economic or social implications. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are occasionally repetitive and could benefit from more nuanced reasoning to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In addition to this' and 'To conclude, Athough'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'their' and 'they', which sometimes lack a clear antecedent. While the structure is coherent, the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'bleak future', 'money save', and 'electric mope' (likely meaning 'mop'). The repetition of basic words like 'people', 'work', and 'children' limits the lexical range. To improve, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and synonyms to express your ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people who are busy at their workplace' is a fragment; 'childrens' is incorrect pluralisation) and awkward sentence construction ('by hiring a cleaner for their own house would be an expensive option'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score.
