Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this fast paced world where people do not have time for their personal life or their own health so, these individuals prefers to hire some people to do their chores like looking after their kids, house-help, drivers etcetera. I do think this is a brilliant way of providing employment to those who are not able to work anywhere. on the other hand I do think that this makes them lazy and dependent on others. All these points will be discussed in the folllowing paragraph.

Firstly, discussing the positive impact of this situation. This kind of employement generally provides benefits to both the individuals , as it is obvious that the guy who is hiring a house help is having a busy day to day schedule and is not able to maintain his surrounding although the person who will be hired can get employment. This will be a big change for the employe hired as he will be able to pay his bills and maintain his basic lifestyle.

Secondly, this thing has also some disadvantages as the individual results in becoming more lazy towards his surroundings. Because after a certain period of time it is going to become a habit of using other individuals for your household chores or daily activities for examples last month one friend fired a house-help due to his financial conditions but, now he is suffering alot just to clean around him.

In the end I would like to state that using househelp for daily basis is definately alot relaxing because you do not have to stress about your chores. Also, it benefits the worker but getting addicted to this lifestyle can be problematic in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing employment and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide a clear position, the arguments are brief and rely on general statements rather than deep analysis. For example, the point about laziness is introduced but not fully explored in terms of its broader societal implications. To improve, aim to expand your supporting points with more detailed explanations or specific examples to reach a higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In the end' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and punctuation. For instance, the transition 'on the other hand I do think' lacks proper punctuation, and some sentences are run-on. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas clearly, such as 'employment', 'financial conditions', and 'problematic'. However, there are instances of informal phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'the guy who is hiring' (too informal) and 'clean around him' (unnatural collocation). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'folllowing', 'employement', and 'definately'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise, academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling throughout your response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('these individuals prefers') and article usage ('the person who will be hired'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and punctuation, which will allow your more complex ideas to be expressed more accurately.
