Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is true that nowadays it has become a trend to recruit a person for doing household chores and upbringing of their children due to hectic schedule. Although this phenomenon has some benefits, i think that people should do that things by themselves due to more reasons.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why people hire other people to do personal chores. First and foremost, in modern era, everyone busy in our life due to more competition between individuals that is why they do not spend time on household chores so they prefer to hire servant to do household chores like laundry, dusting and wash the utencils. so they can concentrate on their work and achieve success in our life. Moreover, if they hire care taker for children upbringings it helps them to supervise their children in turn of which they do not indulge in worse activities.

Despite the hiring helper person, i believe that people should do these things by themselves due to certain reasons. Firstly, when they upbringing of their children by themselves, it not only increase the bonding of their children but also get an opportunities to know about the children's like and dislike. That's why children's can share their personal problems with their parents but it is impossible for them to share with care taker. In addition to it, if they do household chores by themselves, they can do it far more better than servants. For instance, if they food prepare by themselves, they can make it according to children's taste however, servants can prepare food just as a duty so children can deprived to eat their favourite dishes.

To conclude, while it is better to recruit helper person to do personal work owing to less time, according to my perspective people should do that things by themselves it helps to strong bonding with their children.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the argument for doing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'providing work for others' is brief and could be expanded with more specific economic or social implications. The second part of the essay is better developed with personal examples, though some points, such as the claim that parents cook better than servants, are slightly over-generalized. Overall, the response covers all requirements but would benefit from deeper analysis and more nuanced supporting arguments to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Despite', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. There are also instances where the flow is slightly hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'in turn of which they do not indulge in worse activities'. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'upbringing', 'supervise', and 'indulge', but there are also frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'hiring helper person' instead of 'hiring domestic help' and 'wash the utencils' (spelling error). Some phrasing is unnatural, such as 'do that things' and 'deprived to eat'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the lack of precision and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('everyone busy', 'children's can share'), article usage, and sentence construction ('if they food prepare by themselves'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence structure indicates that the writer has not yet achieved consistent control over complex forms. The errors are noticeable and occasionally distract from the flow of the argument.
