Student answer (Band 5.5)

Sometime, due to busy schedule, it is possible to pay somebody to do their work. Although, it is a good way of employment for others, but this also made them dependent on someone always. This essay will discuss both points either to pay someone for work or do themselves.

On the one hand, it is difficult to manage both professional and personal life with job. As a result, this is a very good way to provide an employment to needy people. Additionally, this also reduces stress and anxiety of home chores and looking after children. For instance, working women focus on their work more efficiently after having someone to look after their household work. Moreover, with this they will get some time to rest after work.

On the other hand, certain drawback includes laziness. Not only this but they are being dependent on them for their every work. As a result, their ability to do work themselves decreases. For example, some women come home early sometime but rather than looking after their children, they keep asking them to check and be alert.

However, having a balance approach will help more positively. After job, People should often do some work by themselves specially their children work.

In conclusion, It is a good way of providing work to others while they are busy in their jobs. They will be more focused towards their work rather than having stress and anxiety. Also they can rest for sometime after work. therefore, some disadvantages are also present like laziness and dependency of work on others. As far as i am concerned, doing little work themselves would be a balancing approach for maintaining their personal and professional life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing employment and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that paying for help reduces stress, the explanation remains quite general. Similarly, the argument regarding 'laziness' is a valid point but lacks depth. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the long-term societal or personal implications of these choices. Your position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from a more nuanced exploration of the trade-offs involved.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only this but they are being dependent'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, in the third paragraph, it is not immediately obvious who 'them' refers to in the context of the children. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring clear pronoun references would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'professional and personal life', 'employment', and 'household work'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'do their work' (which is vague) and 'balancing approach'. There is also a lack of variety in your phrasing, with some repetition of basic terms. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with more sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Sometime, due to busy schedule' (missing articles), 'Although, it is a good way... but this also made' (incorrect use of conjunctions), and 'doing little work themselves would be a balancing approach' (minor phrasing issues). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of complex sentence construction.
