Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt that in contemporary world, people prefer to pay someone to do their house chores and performing some nanny duties. According to my perspective, if someone's schedule conflict so then it is a good way to give opportunity to someone to do work , however, if there is any scope that individual can handle their both task then it would be the best choice.

It is widely acknowledged that some people has a very hectic schedule, sometimes it makes them harder to do multitasking. Therefore, hiring someone who can help them to reduce the responsibility of household chores, then it can makes individuals lives easier. For example, a women working from 9am-5pm, and then she needs to take care of her child as well as she needs to prepare dinner for her family, it can cause stress and anxiety to her.

Secondly, it is a good mode of earning. People who have experience in this field from their hometown , they can use the same to earn money and it can be helpful in their employment. For instance, after covid-19 pandemic , everyone's employment are halt, and due to this crisis almost 70% people lost their jobs. Therefore, this can help the individuals to earn the bread and butter for their family.

In my opinion, people can perform such task by themselves instead of hiring someone for like preparing meals, and helping children's to finish their homework. It can work as a break for individuals who works whole day. However, sometimes it becomes harder to perform, so then they should hire someone.

To conclude, hiring someone to do household chores is totally depends on the individuals choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether it is a good way to provide work and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. The position is clear, though the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'earning bread and butter' is relevant but lacks depth in terms of the broader socio-economic implications of outsourcing domestic labor. The conclusion is a bit weak, merely stating that it depends on the individual's choice without summarizing the main points effectively. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis and ensure that your examples are fully integrated into the argument rather than just mentioned.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Secondly', and 'In my opinion' to link sentences. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'if someone's schedule conflict so then it is a good way'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the relationship between sentences is always logical and clear.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'performing some nanny duties' (instead of 'childcare duties') and 'everyone's employment are halt' (instead of 'employment was halted'). You also use some repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher band, aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary and collocations. For example, instead of 'makes individuals lives easier', consider 'alleviates the burden on individuals'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some people has', 'individuals who works'), incorrect verb forms ('it can makes'), and punctuation errors (e.g., spaces before commas). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common slips in tense and article usage. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
