Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of job creation and the personal circumstances regarding household chores. However, the essay is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the depth of development. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped; for instance, the argument about 'rich people' in the conclusion is a generalization that lacks nuance. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear, but the brevity prevents a fully developed response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the idea of employment and the personal choice of doing chores could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be more sophisticated to improve the overall progression of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic phrases like 'do these work' (should be 'do this work') and 'good way'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'household taks' (spelling) and 'for take care of' (should be 'to take care of'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to labor markets, socio-economic factors, or personal time management to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'has been become' (redundant verb tense), 'do these work' (number agreement), and 'for take care of' (incorrect prepositional phrase). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy. The punctuation is generally correct, but the sentence variety is somewhat limited.
