Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, it is hard to work on household chores due to busy work schedules and hectic life style. Therefore, some believe that hiring maid to reduce their house work load might be highly regarded. I personally believe that paying others to support them with house work would definitely reduce the stress and burden but this should not be a permanent practice. This essay will elucidate more details in the below paragraphs.

To commence with, people who believe purposing their viewpoints stating that hiring someone for the house work or caretaker might be highly beneficial to individual who spend most of their time in the offices, due to the over work load or long hours of travel. They hardly get sometime to relax and rejuvenate their mind after they return home. Hence, hiring maids might improve them to concentrate towards the work. Consequently, this might enhance the productivity, at the same time these arrangements would reduce the anxiety after returning home.

Similarly, in many developing countries most of the domestic workers are largely rely doing household work, caregiving to elder and child care for their living and income source, by which they can support their family supporting for education, medications and overall well being.

Nevertheless, there are some individuals share their opinion that this endeavour should not root to permanent practice since this might make one lazy, also cause financial burden to the family. Therefore, it is advisable to use the services when there are major requirements or high work pressure.

To sum up, although, taking support from the paid workers are useful to reduce the stress during the difficult situations, yet this should not be a longtime practice which can cause financial burden and health issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that hiring help supports the economy and reduces stress, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, and the position, while clear, could be more robustly argued with more detailed reasoning. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with concrete evidence or logical consequences rather than just stating the idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Consequently', and 'Nevertheless' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'people who believe purposing their viewpoints stating that'. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the flow between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'rejuvenate', 'contemporary era', and 'endeavour'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'purposing their viewpoints', 'improve them to concentrate', and 'longtime practice' (instead of 'long-term'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise terminology for the context of domestic labor and economic impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'most of the domestic workers are largely rely doing' (should be 'rely on doing') and 'hiring maid' (missing article). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward sentence constructions that affect readability. The majority of your sentences contain minor errors, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
