Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an undeniable that people need to pay individuals for their work which we don't have time to do. There are both pros and cons for this situation. My inclination is discussed in the ensuring paragraphs.

To begin with, people are busy in their workaholic life. So, it is better to hire an employee for the child care and household works. One of the major advantage of this, individuals save their time from the busy work schedule and they are utilize this time with their family members. Moreover, it will create more job opportunities for the individuals who are looking for a work. Not only it will reduce the crime rates but also boost the employment rate. This means that, it will directly boost the economy of the country.

On the other hand, child care is responsibility of their parents because they know their child better than care giver. Furthermore, the child is taken care by care giver it will create negative impact in the child's mind and they run away from their parents because of lack of attention is given by their parents. Although, household chores and care takers increase the expenses of the family because they need to pay everday for their work. So, people need to work more hours to earn more. To add more, if family divide their works between their family members, it will easy to finish the house hold chores. These house hold works keep your body active and do some execise everday which is beneficial for the body in this sedentary work-style. One article says that if individuals do daily house hold works for 30 minutes, it will reduce the chances of obesity.

In the nutshell, the disadvantages of the situation outweigh the advantages. So, people are needed to do their house works by themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of outsourcing tasks and the argument for doing them personally. The position is clear, with the writer ultimately concluding that doing chores personally is preferable. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the link between hiring help and reducing crime rates is a leap in logic that lacks sufficient explanation. While the arguments are relevant, they could be extended with more nuanced reasoning or specific examples to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit abrupt, though it does summarize the writer's stance effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Although, household chores and care takers increase the expenses'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. Despite these minor issues, the overall progression of the argument is logical and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'sedentary work-style' and 'workaholic life', which are used appropriately. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'they are utilize this time' (should be 'they can utilize') and 'the child is taken care by care giver' (should be 'if a child is cared for by a caregiver'). These errors do not impede communication but prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, articles, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'It is an undeniable that', 'people are needed to do', 'if family divide their works'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that occasionally require the reader to re-read for clarity. The control over grammar is inconsistent, which is characteristic of the 6.0 band level.
