Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is possible to get the work done by paying a person for the things they do not have enough time to complete or no wish to do like household work or taking care of a child. I think people ought to do things by themself rather than providing work to someone else.

The major reasons to not provide work related to children is natural bonding with them. If somebody else is taking care of child, there will be higher chances of not having smooth communication with them which leads to emotional gap between parents and kids. In addition to that, most of toddlers adapt the behavior and moral values from the people around them. For instance, most of the children learn kindness from their mothers. Thus, it is crucial to be around them while they growing up.

The house duties should be done by own as it helps to be physical active and to save money. The more you do work related to home the more you can learn about self discipline, cognitive skill, etc. Also, these behavior can be learnt by child as well. As it helps on budget too so we can say its also budget friendly so, you can invest that money to somewhere else like share market. Therefore, it not only help you financially but also let you be in shape and active.

To conclude, it would be beneficial to get work done by on your own rather than others. As it saves time and money both, and helps you to nurture your child.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether paying others is a good way to provide work and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the emotional benefits of childcare and the financial/physical benefits of housework, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the point about 'share market' is a bit underdeveloped and tangential. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, rather than listing benefits briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to that', 'For instance', and 'To conclude' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'these behavior' in the third paragraph lacks a clear antecedent). The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between the two main body paragraphs could be smoother to create a more cohesive argument. Improving the variety of linking words would help the essay read more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'natural bonding', 'moral values', and 'self-discipline'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word forms, such as 'do work related to home' instead of 'perform household chores', and 'be physical active' instead of 'be physically active'. There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that word forms (adjectives vs. adverbs) are used correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' house duties, 'the' share market), subject-verb agreement ('most of toddlers adapt'), and pluralisation ('these behavior'). Some sentences are slightly ungrammatical, such as 'it not only help you financially but also let you be in shape'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your point, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors would be beneficial.
